Director, Manufacturing Cost Strategy

Job Description:

1. Manage a team of Manufacturing Managers and Engineers to fulfill or exceed BU’s shipment target with optimal productivity but minimal cost. 
2. Plan & forecast annual capital & expense budgeting of the Fab to align with Company direction. At the same time, ensure that individual department Profit and Loss stays within budget. 
3. Set goals, track & drive performance indicators for the Fab and at the same time, ensure good communication/pass-down of Company and Fab direction to the ground level cost/quality development. 
4. Mentor managers and engineers in both technical and managerial areas. 
5. Drive towards reducing manufacturing cost. 
6. Key parts management

Job Requirements:

1. Master's degree required. Candidates with Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field, such as Manufacturing, Industrial, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering are required.
2. More than 20 years of experience in semiconductor manufacturing, operations excellence, industrial engineering, cost engineering, or process improvement roles.
3. Possess strong manufacturing know-how in Front-End Wafer Fab operations.
4. Well-versed in all four core modules —Photolithography, Etch, Diffusion, and Thin Film with a good understanding of foundry operation complexities such as multi-product environments and varied process flows.
5. Proven track record in cost reduction and productivity improvement projects.
6. Expertise in critical equipment parts management, including spare parts optimization, lifecycle management, inventory strategy with proven track record in delivering sustainable cost reductions and improvement of equipment uptime.
7. Able to plan strategically, set clear goals, and provide direction to drive team quality and cost excellence.
8. Exhibits effective leadership qualities and cost, with the ability to coach, mentor, and develop team competencies.
