Drafter

Job Summary

The Air-Conditioning Drafter is responsible for preparing detailed technical drawings and shop drawings for air-conditioning and mechanical ventilation (ACMV) systems. The role involves working closely with engineers, project managers, and site teams to ensure drawings comply with project specifications, industry standards, and client requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare ACMV shop drawings, construction drawings, and as-built drawings using AutoCAD or BIM software.
• Interpret engineering designs, specifications, and project requirements.
• Coordinate drawing submissions with engineers, consultants, and project teams.
• Revise drawings according to design changes and site conditions.
• Prepare detailed layouts for ducting, piping, equipment, and related ACMV components.
• Ensure all drawings comply with local regulations, project specifications, and company standards.
• Conduct drawing coordination with other disciplines, including electrical, plumbing, and structural teams.
• Assist in quantity take-offs and material estimation when required.
• Maintain proper documentation and drawing records.
• Support site teams with technical drawing clarification and updates.

Requirements

• Diploma or Certificate in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, Drafting, or a related field.
• Minimum 1–3 years of experience in ACMV drafting or a similar role.
• Proficient in AutoCAD. Knowledge of BIM software such as Revit is an advantage.
• Familiar with ACMV systems, ducting layouts, chilled water piping, and ventilation systems.
• Ability to read and interpret technical and engineering drawings.
• Good understanding of Singapore building codes and industry standards.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Good communication and coordination skills.
• Ability to work independently and meet project deadlines.

Preferred Skills

• Experience in commercial, industrial, or residential construction projects.
• Knowledge of BIM coordination and clash detection.
• Familiarity with submission requirements to consultants and authorities.
• Experience preparing as-built drawings and operation manuals.

Working Conditions

• Office-based with occasional site visits.
• May be required to attend project coordination meetings.
• Able to manage multiple projects and tight deadlines.

Salary Range

SGD 2,800 – SGD 4,500 per month (depending on experience and qualifications).
