Electrical Engineer

Client Overview:

Our client is a European MNC specializing in advanced battery technologies for various applications, including energy storage, aerospace, defense, and transportation.

As part of energy storage projects, the Electrical Engineering Design Engineer is involved in the design of the overall electrical architecture of the projects, from the battery to the connection to the HTA network (or HTB).

Perform analysis of compliance customer’s specifications.

Technical solution corresponding to the customer's need:

• Single line diagrams from project input data
• HV stations for connection to the equipment network
• Power cable (DC) pre-sizing between Battery Containers and Conversion Systems
• Power cable (AC) pre-sizing between Conversion Systems and HV Stations
• Preliminary costing of electrical works and equipment (wiring, HV stations, TGBT, etc.)
• Drafting of Specifications for consultation with Companies, preparation of price lists, EPC files, etc.
• Support Operations in ESL JIRA tickets root cause analysis.
• Define priorities on issues met on field to be fixed by product team.
• Propose solutions, corrective or curative actions.

Support the development of Layout views for HT sites and stations.

Support electrical Projects configuration and management.

Communicate and apply the technical policies, the best practices.

Interface between the product engineering team and the ESS Operations (3 regions)​

Write and maintain training presentations for newcomers and system engineers as well.

• Animate training sessions.
• Internal standards and/or design guidelines update.
• Return of experience with the rest of the engineering department.

Apply the technical policies, the best practices and standards to develop project.

Pilot electrical documentation in ERP system.

Seminars participation, multi sites meetings, competitors analysis, standard analysis.

Support other offices (E.g. Bangalore, Zhuhai) to develop their electrical engineering skills.

Project Management:
Interface between product system teams and ESS Operations regions (AMER, APAC, EMEA, GoE):

• Bids team (AVP)
• Project system engineers (design & integration)
• Services managers (operation & maintenance)
• Field actors (I&C, maintenance)

Interface with Customers to justify the technical solutions proposed.

During construction phase, site visit, monitoring of subcontractors, validation of calculation notes and network simulation reports, project validation strategy.

Job Requirements:

1. Engineering degree or equivalent
2. Good knowledge of HTA electrical equipment (see HTB) and its installation.
3. Experience in project engineering, subcontract management, tendering management
4. Common use of AutoCAD, SLD creation, Layout, block manipulation, Creo-schematic, etc.
5. Project references: Connection to networks of power plants type ENR and/or High Voltage substations.
6. The control of network simulation software (PowerFactory, PSS/E etc.) and/or electrical design (Caneco, Cymcap etc.) would be a plus.
7. Thorough knowledge of conversion systems (CA/DC) would be a plus.
8. Fluent communication in English.
