Electrical Engineer

The Electrical Designer works with a team of engineers and electricians who coordinate and carry out all onboard / yard tasks related to the new build, repair, and improvement of the electrical systems. He / she performs a variety of duties as follow:

Task Management

• Work with project engineers to define electrical & electronic system design specifications
• Validates electrical designs and technical data for ship systems
• Manage external vendor and contractors to deliver systems that meet design specification and regulatory regulations
• Responsible for on time, on budget, delivery of electrical systems
• Provide guidance to ensure commissioning of vessel systems are completed on time
• Ensuring the quality of deliverables are met
• Adhering with approved company processes
• Continually seek to identify & minimize areas of risk and/or waste
• Provide technical and design expertise
• Understanding of Class and Flag requirements
• Ensure OHS&E policies & guidelines are adhered to

Key Abilities / Abilities Required

• Communication with client, suppliers, and inter-department to ensure the success of the project
• Communications with all levels of the organization
• Develop and maintain key external relationships with partners, clients, regulatory bodies, and organizations

Essential

• Degree or Diploma in Electrical, or similar disciplines
• Understanding of ship systems and able to interpret engineering drawings
• Knowledge in use of MS Office, Autocad
• Passion for quality work and desire for improvement
• Independent, Objective-driven, Reliable, and Motivated·
• Excellent grasp of the English language.
• Demonstration of sensitivity to culturally diverse environments
• Ability to devise and implement innovative work practices aimed at improving productivity
• Excellent organizational skills with a strong focus on achieving results
