The Electrical Installer is responsible for carrying out the installation, testing, maintenance, repair, and commissioning of electrical systems and equipment in accordance with approved drawings, project specifications, workplace safety regulations, and company procedures.
Install electrical wiring, conduits, trunking, cable trays, and cable containment systems.
Pull, terminate, and connect electrical cables and wiring.
Install electrical equipment including distribution boards, switches, socket outlets, lighting fixtures, isolators, control panels, motors, and other electrical accessories.
Read and interpret electrical drawings, single-line diagrams, and technical specifications.
Ensure all installations comply with applicable Singapore electrical regulations, standards, and project requirements.
Perform electrical testing and inspections before energising systems.
Assist in commissioning newly installed electrical systems.
Identify and rectify installation defects and faults.
Record test results and complete commissioning documentation.
Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance on electrical installations.
Troubleshoot electrical faults and recommend suitable corrective actions.
Replace defective electrical components and equipment when required.
Comply with the Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) Act, company safety procedures, and site-specific safety requirements.
Conduct work in accordance with approved Safe Work Procedures (SWP) and Risk Assessments (RA).
Use appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times.
Maintain good housekeeping and keep work areas clean and free from hazards.
Report unsafe conditions, incidents, and near misses promptly.
Ensure all installation work meets company quality standards and client specifications.
Inspect completed work before submission.
Minimise rework through proper workmanship and compliance with installation standards.
Complete daily work reports, installation records, inspection checklists, and testing documentation.
Report work progress, material shortages, and technical issues to the Site Supervisor or Project Engineer.
Coordinate with supervisors, engineers, subcontractors, and other trades to ensure smooth project execution.
Assist junior workers and apprentices where required.
Attend toolbox meetings, safety briefings, and technical training sessions.
Ensure proper use, care, and maintenance of tools and equipment.
Verify materials received are correct and suitable for installation.
Prevent damage or wastage of company materials and equipment.
Perform any other duties assigned by the Project Manager, Site Supervisor, or Management that are relevant to the position.
Basic knowledge of electrical installation methods and electrical systems.
Ability to read electrical drawings and wiring diagrams.
Familiarity with electrical hand tools, testing instruments, and power tools.
Knowledge of Singapore Workplace Safety and Health requirements.
Physically fit and able to work at heights, confined spaces, or construction sites where required.
Good teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Relevant electrical certification or licence (where applicable) is an advantage.
