Job Description - Engineer, Customer Quality Assurance

ROLE / JOB SUMMARY
-Process field claims in a timely manner for resolution

-Drive customer issue resolution through claims management process, i.e. root cause analysis, containment, corrective action, quality controls improvements to prevent recurrence and increase detection efficacy

-Work with regional Technical Product Managers to resolve field claims, i.e. failure analysis and site visits

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

-Collaborate with cross-functional teams, contributing to the product FA or characterization

-Provide timely engineering insights including failure analysis, technical reports and presentation

-Handle customer visits and factory audits and product inspection

-Develop & contribute to building knowledge base of degradation from product to material level

-Design tests to detect infant mortality and mid-life product failures

ESSENTIAL JOB / COMPETENCIES:
Technical

  • Understanding of the technological developments in the industry on both products and components
  • Energy yield monitoring

Analytical & Problem Solving

  • Warranty claim process and resolution management
  • Engineering knowledge in using quality tools such as 5 Whys, 8D, CAPA, DMAIC.

SoftSkills & Professional Attributes

  • Project and experimental planning
  • Product testing and report writing

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum bachelor’s degree (engineering discipline), advanced degrees holder (Master’s or PhD) are welcome to apply
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Problem-solving and failure analysis of products
  • Familiar with statistical analysis method
  • Experience in SAP, Knowledge of Production System (TPS) and Lean Manufacturing principles will be added advantage
  • Active participation in technical reviews to drive business outcome
  • Sense of urgency to deliver outcome.
  • Strong sense of ownership and self-motivation, work independently.
  • Proactive working attitude – hands on approach
  • Good time management, able to handle pressure under tight timelines
  • Self-management, strong belief in driving for quality and customer satisfaction.
  • Ability to interface and communicate effectively with cross-functional teams as well as external stake holders and external auditors.
  • Communicate effectively through presentation and technical reports.
  • Active participation and/or driving a team in group activities
  • Meet project deliverables in accordance with timeline
  • Working experience in manufacturing industries will be an added advantage
  • Willing to travel
