Engineer, Transmit

Position Overview

We are seeking an Engineer (Transmit) to support the characterization, integration, testing, and manufacturing of optical engines (transmitters) used in high-speed optical transceivers. This role focuses on optical engine validation and production support, working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure product performance, quality, and manufacturability.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform characterization and validation of EML transmitters, high-speed modulators, and photonic waveguide components.
• Measure and analyze transmitter performance, including optical output power, extinction ratio, modulation bandwidth, and temperature characteristics.
• Execute engineering validation, production testing, and manufacturing qualification activities for transmit modules.
• Collect, analyze, and document test data to identify performance trends, yield issues, and support root cause investigations.
• Maintain automated data analysis tools and generate reports using Excel, Python, MATLAB, or similar software.
• Support optical engine integration, engineering builds and manufacturing activities by working closely with design, packaging, and production teams.
• Prepare technical documentation, test reports, and engineering records to support product qualification and manufacturing.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, Photonics, Physics, or a related field.
• 2–5 years of experience in photonics, optical communications, semiconductor optoelectronics, or a related engineering environment.
• Experience with optical transmitters, optical engines, or optical transceiver products is preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analysis; experience with Python, MATLAB, LabVIEW, JMP, or similar tools is an advantage.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
