Executive/Senior Mechanical Engineer with Renowned Transport Provider

About the Role

An established transport provider is looking for a reliable Mechanical Engineer who can analyse and utilise relevant data to provide engineering solutions and perform defect investigations to support the appropriate systems of critical infrastructure and equipment. The engineer will independently investigate equipment faults and its root cause, identify trends and potential issues through analysing reliability and condition monitoring data, and improve technical solutions to the problems identified.

The engineer will also be required to conduct data engineering and analysis, and generate visualisations to recommend actionable insights for maintenance and engineering business units.

Key Responsibilities

• Evaluate and develop or enhance engineering solutions, and collaborate with the Operations and Maintenance team to implement and ensure solutions are safe and effective.

• Maintain adherence to regulatory standards and requirements by identifying and gathering engineering standards for the relevant mechanical and electrical systems.

• Evaluate mechanical, electrical, and electronic workshop maintenance capability based on the Company’s workshop monitoring procedures.

• Develop procedures, test methods, relevant testing tools, and testing setups, to improve the workshop’s capacity for repair and overhaul.

• Support obsolescence management initiatives through the evaluation or development of alternate components, repair methodologies, and engineering modifications.

• Perform root-cause analysis using appropriate methods to investigate defects and identify its causes and follow-up.

• Inspect and evaluate project design specifications to ensure safety, reliability, maintainability, and operability have been appropriately considered.

• Work in various work sites and adhere to the Company’s Safety Standards and Requirements.

• Work in rotating or fixed shifts.

• Support the transition from preventive to predictive maintenance by developing data analytics and condition monitoring capabilities.

• Perform ad hoc tasks as assigned by supervisor.

Requirements

• Possesses a Mechanical Engineering Degree or equivalent from an institution recognised by Singapore Professional Engineers Board.

• Demonstrated dashboarding competency using software like PowerBI.

• Familiarity with Python or equivalent programming languages is advantageous.

• Possesses strong leadership and interpersonal skills and is comfortable working alongside various stakeholders in a hands-on environment.

• Is a team player who can also work independently, and able to adapt accordingly to different work situations.

• Comfortable working independently to conduct engineering analysis and develop effective solutions.

• Able to independently present and take ownership of presenting data in visual formats to explain different concepts, insights, and trends.

• Proficient in various diagnostic and reliability engineering methods.

• Demonstrates sound judgment and the ability to evaluate complex situations effectively.

• Skilled in coordinating priorities and managing tasks in a structured manner.
