Job Title

Facilities Construction Document and Cost Control Engineer (Fab10)

Job Purpose

The Facilities Construction Document and Cost Control Engineer oversees end‑to‑end execution of construction document management and cost control activities for Fab10 facilities construction projects. This includes ensuring construction documentation, cost tracking, forecasting, and change management processes align with Global Facilities standards, supporting reliable cost visibility, disciplined asset capitalization, and improved forecast‑to‑actual accuracy throughout the project lifecycle.

The role acts as a key integrator across Site Construction, General Contractors, Procurement, Global Facilities Design, Global Facilities Project Control, Global Facilities Cost, and Fixed Asset Finance to drive execution rigor, cost predictability, and repeatable best practices for current and future facilities construction projects.

Key Responsibilities

Construction Document Control and Governance

  • Own and administer the construction document control framework for Fab10 Facilities Construction, ensuring drawings, specifications, change records, and close‑out documents comply with Global Facilities standards, approved revisions, and version controls.

  • Coordinate document workflows across design teams, contractors, global stakeholders, and site execution teams to ensure correct, current revisions are issued, accessed, and used by relevant parties.

  • Maintain controlled document retention, versioning, performance records, and audit trails to demonstrate compliance with Global Facilities document control procedures.

  • Proactively identify and capture site execution best practices and best-known
methods, and channel them to Global Facilities to drive continuous enhancement of document control standards and practices.

Construction Cost Control and Change Management

  • Establish and maintain project cost baselines, commitments, and forecasts in collaboration with Site Commercial, Global Facilities Cost and Global Facilities Project Controls.

  • Actively track and analyze budget, committed, and actual costs, identify variances and emerging risks early, and escalate corrective actions to maintain cost alignment and forecast accuracy.

  • Improve forecast‑to‑actual accuracy through disciplined cost validation, accrual coordination, and integrated change tracking.

  • Support cashflow tracking, invoice validation, and capitalization readiness in coordination with Fixed Asset Finance.

  • Coordinate scope and cost change management, ensuring changes are documented, approved, reflected in forecasts, and managed through defined processes across design, field, procurement, and execution.

Operational Excellence and Policy Deployment

  • Support IPP and Policy Deployment goals by driving cost control, execution discipline, and outcome predictability for Fab10 construction projects.

  • Identify system, process, and workflow improvement opportunities across document and cost control practices, and collaborate with Global Facilities Project Control to develop and implement improved workflows and standards.

  • Support the rollout, adoption, and consistent site‑level implementation of updated Global Facilities standards, tools, and best practices.
