Job Description - Field Application Engineer (ASEAN)

Overview:

As a Field Application Engineer (FAE) at TDK SensEI, you will act as the technical bridge between our customers and internal product teams. In this customer-facing role, you will enable successful adoption of SensEI’s sensor, edge AI, and embedded hardware solutions by providing design-in support, system-level integration expertise, and hands-on technical guidance. Your work ensures that our innovative technologies translate into real-world success for our customers.

KEYRESPONSIBILITIES

Technical Support & Implementations

·        Act as the primary technical interface for assigned customers, supporting pre-sales engagements and post-sales technical support.

·        Work closely with customers’ engineering teams to integrate TDK SensEI sensors and platforms into their systems.

·        Deliver product demonstrations, proof-of-concept evaluations, and assist with system-level design recommendations.

·        Provide on-site or virtual technical support, troubleshooting hardware/software issues and working cross-functionally to resolve them.

Cross Functional Collaborations

·        Collaborate with internal R&D, product management, and marketing teams to relay customer feedback, market insights, and drive product enhancements.

·        Create and maintain technical documentation, including application notes, integration guides, and FAQs.

·        Participate in technical training sessions for distributors, partners, and internal teams.

·        Identify new use cases and build demo applications for SensEI ML products.

·        Assist with technical input for proposals, RFQs, and pre-sales documentation.

·        Conduct competitive analysis and provide insights to internal teams.

·        Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards and regulatory requirements in customer designs.

·        Document and escalate field issues for quality and reliability improvements.

ADDITIONALRESPONSIBILITIES

·        Support key design-win opportunities by aligning customer requirements with product capabilities.

·        Assist in evaluation kit setup, debugging, and configuration.

·        Help define customer-specific firmware modifications and contribute to development where applicable

·        Represent TDK SensEI at industry events, tradeshows, and customer roadshows.

·        Develop and manage demo videos, user documentation, and blogs to support user adoption.

QUALIFICATIONS

The successful candidate for this position must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily with or without reasonable accommodation. The qualifications and working conditions listed below are representative of those required for the position.

Education/Experience:

·        Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.

·        +5years of experience with product management tools (Jira, Confluence, GitHub, Hubspot) and methodologies, including creating PRDs, user stories, and wireframes.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

·        Strong knowledge of embedded systems, sensors, and edge AI platforms.

·        Proficiency in programming languages such as C/C++ and Python.

·        Familiarity with hardware debugging tools (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers) and communication protocols.

·        Ability to troubleshoot hardware/software integration issues and provide system-level recommendations.

·        Excellent verbal and written communication for customer interactions and technical documentation.

·        Willingness to travel typically 20–30% for customer visits, demos, and industry events within ASEAN

Certification or Licenses (Preferred)

·        Embedded Systems Certification (e.g., ARM, Microchip, ST Micro).

·        IoT Platform Certifications (AWS IoT, Azure IoT, etc.)

·        Agile or PMP training for those involved in customer project coordination.

·        Safety or quality certifications (IPC, ISO/TS if applicable to market).
