Field Service Engineer (Infrastructure Support)

Role Summary

We are seeking a Field Service Engineer to provide maintenance and technical support for a mission-critical Command and Control (C2) system deployed at customer sites in Singapore. The successful candidate will be responsible for preventive and corrective maintenance, hardware troubleshooting, warranty administration, and ensuring high system availability and reliability.

This role involves working with critical IT and infrastructure equipment while supporting stringent service level requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Hardware Maintenance & Field Support

• Perform corrective maintenance to restore hardware systems to operational condition.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot hardware faults and coordinate repair activities where required.
• Support system restoration activities to meet agreed service levels.
• Monitor system availability, reliability, downtime, MTBF and MTTR records.

Preventive Maintenance

• Carry out scheduled preventive maintenance activities according to approved maintenance procedures.
• Perform hardware inspections, servicing, calibration checks and configuration verification.
• Prepare preventive maintenance reports upon completion.

Warranty Administration

• Maintain accurate warranty records for installed hardware.
• Coordinate warranty claims with vendors.
• Verify repaired components before integration and testing.
• Ensure proper hardware configuration management.

Field Testing

• Support software verification and testing following software patches, bug fixes and deployment activities.
• Verify correct system configuration before testing and production use.

Spares & Inventory Management

• Manage spare parts, maintenance tools and test equipment at customer sites.
• Perform inventory control including receipt, issuance and disposal of equipment.
• Conduct serviceability checks on spare parts.
• Monitor hardware end-of-life (EOL) and end-of-support (EOS) status.

Vendor Coordination

• Coordinate with external vendors for equipment calibration and maintenance support.
• Ensure calibration activities are completed according to maintenance schedules.

General Responsibilities

• Participate in standby support based on a rotational schedule.
• Prepare maintenance documentation and service reports.
• Perform other duties assigned by the project team.

Requirements

Education

• Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, Information Technology or a related engineering discipline.
• Candidates with equivalent relevant engineering experience are encouraged to apply.

Experience

• Minimum 2 years of experience in field service, infrastructure support, or system maintenance.
• Experience supporting one or more of the following technologies is advantageous:Server hardwareNetwork switchesWireless access pointsUninterruptible Power Supply (UPS)Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC)Remote I/O systemsOutdoor equipment racksVideo wall systemsKeyboard Video Mouse (KVM) systems
• Experience supporting high-availability or mission-critical environments is preferred.
• Familiarity with IT Service Management (ITSM) processes and service delivery practices is advantageous.
