Purpose of the Job
The General Manager leads and develops a team with operational commercial, legal, and operational responsibilities to ensure that the organisation achieves its business objectives. He/She is responsible for formulating long-term business strategies to achieve profitable revenue growth, particularly in port machinery, marine engineering, and electrical equipment.
He/She directs the preparation of operating budgets and proposals for capital expenditure and investments in infrastructure, technology, equipment, systems, and other assets and resources.
He/She must have prior experience within a multinational industrial group and its regional headquarters, with proven ability to manage contract risk control and key account clients in Southeast Asia.
He/She applies strategic thinking and people management skills to manage key business relationships with global port operators as well as ensuring proper implementation of Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) standards across the business verticals.
Job Description
1.Collaborate with Business Heads to identify areas of technical and business management training development.
2.Conduct key stakeholder analysis to identify key internal and external stakeholders.
3.Define medium-term strategic plans to expand current business, with a focus on port machinery, marine engineering, and electrical equipment.
4.Determine short- and long-term financial needs to assess current financial situations.
5.Directs the preparation of operating budgets and proposals for capital expenditure and investments in infrastructure.
6.Ensure that all business functions are aligned to the quality management system of the organization.
7.Ensure the implementation of Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) standards across the business verticals.
8.Establish key stakeholder relationship management audit processes and criteria.
9.Establish performance indicators to benchmark for the effectiveness of learning and development program based on industry best standards.
10.Identify new opportunities within defined business verticals.
Identify principal risks to the organization.
11.Manage relationships with business stakeholders, government agencies, media, academia, and customers through focused initiatives.
12.Mitigate and resolve Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) related escalations.
13.Recommend effective internal controls and quality management related information systems.
14.Review business performance against plans.
15.Support the development of business performance indicators and measurement standards across organization.
16.Support the development of organisational business goals.
17.Support the development of organisational quality management policies.
18.Support the development of organisation's employee development system.
19.Support the development of Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) policies and procedures.
20.Responsible for the marketing of the ZPMC company based on port machinery, marine engineering equipment, electrical equipment and other ZPMC related products.
21.Responsible for the overall implementation of the subsidiaries' business in the region and monitoring the operation of the company, assessing the company's operation, systematically coordinating the existing problems, and reporting to the head office in a timely manner.
22.Provide monthly reports to the head office on the subsidiary's operations and conduct video conferences.
23.Lead commercial and legal teams to manage contract risk control and establish standardised contract review processes.
24.Direct key customer relationships and high-stakes negotiations at the regional level, including framework agreements with major port operators.
Work History
Must have:
1.Good to have at least 10 years’ experience in industrial equipment electrical engineering field.
2. Prior experience within a multinational industrial group or its regional headquarters is required.
3.Demonstrated experience leading contract risk control and commercial law functions.
4.Proven track record of managing key business relationships global port operators
Skills/Qualifications/Training
Must have:
1.Degree and above in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering.
2.Degree in Engineering Management or equivalent is strongly preferred.
3.Bilingual proficiency in English and Chinese (business fluent, capable of complex negotiations).
4.5days work per week.
