General Manager (CONSTRUCTION)

Roles and Responsibilities

• Provide overall leadership and strategic oversight of civil engineering and construction operations
• Drive business performance across multiple projects, ensuring alignment with organisational goals and HQ expectations
• Oversee project portfolios, including budget performance, resource allocation, and profitability
• Establish and enforce governance frameworks for project delivery, safety, quality, and compliance standards
• Review and approve major project plans, contracts, and commercial strategies
• Lead senior project and operations teams, ensuring strong execution capability across all sites
• Manage key stakeholder relationships including clients, joint venture partners, consultants, and regulatory bodies
• Report regularly to Japanese Headquarters on operational performance, risks, and strategic initiatives
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, cost control, and project outcomes
• Lead risk management and ensure appropriate mitigation strategies are in place across all projects

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related discipline
• Minimum 15 years of experience in civil engineering, infrastructure, or construction industries
• At least 8 years in senior leadership or general management roles overseeing multiple projects or business units
• Strong track record in delivering large-scale, complex infrastructure or construction portfolios
• Deep understanding of commercial management, contract strategy, and project governance
• Proven ability to lead senior teams and influence at executive level
• Strong financial acumen with experience managing P&L responsibility
• Fluency in Japanese is required due to regular engagement and reporting with Japanese Headquarters
