GROUPCOSTING MANAGER

Role Overview

The Group Costing Manager will support the Group CFO in strengthening costing visibility, manufacturing cost analysis, and cost control across the Group’s manufacturing operations.

This role will work closely with finance, operations, supply chain, and plant stakeholders to review manufacturing processes, support the development of consistent costing methodology, and contribute to SAP system upgrade readiness from a costing and manufacturing finance perspective.

The role will be based in either Singapore or Penang and will report to the Group CFO and Singapore HQ. Regional travel across Asia will be required, with potential travel to Europe over time.

Key Responsibilities

·      Review manufacturing processes across the Group’s plants to identify key cost drivers, process in efficiencies, and improvement opportunities.

·       Support the development and standardisation of costing methodology across manufacturing operations, in preparation for the upcoming SAP system upgrade milestone.

·       Analyse and monitor manufacturing cost drivers, including material costs, labour hours, machine hours, overhead allocation, production flow, scrap, rework, yield, and inventory-related costs.

·       Support standard costing, variance analysis, inventory valuation, product costing, and margin analysis across relevant product lines and manufacturing sites.

·       Partner with operations, supply chain, procurement, engineering, and plant finance teams to identify and support cost reduction initiatives.

·       Workwith relevant stakeholders to improve cost visibility across materials, manpower, machine utilisation, and supply chain flow.

·       Support costing-related workstreams for SAP upgrade readiness, including costingin puts, cost centres, product costing logic, data validation, reporting requirements, and user testing where required.

·       Prepare costing analysis, variance reports, and manufacturing finance insights for the Group CFO and Singapore HQ.

·       Support budgeting, forecasting, management reporting, and operational performance review from a costing and manufacturing finance perspective.

·       Ensure costing and inventory-related finance practices are aligned with internal controls and relevant accounting standards, including IFRS.

·      Work with regional stakeholders across Asia and, over time, Europe, with expected travel of approximately 30% depending on business requirements.

KeyQualifications

·      Degree in Accountancy, Finance, Business, Engineering, or related discipline.

·       At least 8 to 10 years of relevant experience in costing, plant finance, manufacturing finance, or financial planning and analysis within a manufacturing environment.

·       Strong knowledge of standard costing, variance analysis, inventory valuation, manufacturing cost drivers, and margin analysis.

·       Good understanding of IFRS, particularly in relation to inventory, costing, and manufacturing finance matters.

·       Prior experience in precision engineering, semiconductor, electronics manufacturing, EMS, aerospace, or advanced manufacturing will be preferred.

·       Experience with SAP is preferred. Prior involvement in SAP implementation, SAP upgrade, or costing-related system workstreams will be advantageous.

·       Regional or multi-site manufacturing exposure will be an advantage.

·       Comfortable working with finance, plant operations, supply chain, procurement, and engineering stakeholders across different locations.

·      Open to regional travel across Asia and eventually Europe, estimated at around 30% of the time.

Personal Attributes

·      Analytical, structured, and commercially minded.

·       Hands-on and comfortable working close to manufacturing operations.

·       Strong attention to detail, with the ability to connect operational activities to financial outcomes.

·       Effective communicator with the ability to work with both finance and non-finance stakeholders.

·       Practica land execution-focused, with the ability to support change in a multi-site environment.

·      Resilient, adaptable, and comfortable working in an evolving business and systems environment.
