HVAC Commissioning Engineer (Data Centre / Mission-Critical)

Role Summary

Commissioning Engineer plans, coordinates and carries out commissioning activities so that systems and equipment are installed, tested and operating in line with project specifications, design intent and safety standards. The role supports project delivery by verifying system performance, working through technical issues, and making sure the handover to the client goes smoothly.

You will work closely with project managers, contractors, consultants and clients — putting together commissioning plans, carrying out inspections, witnessing testing, and preparing the technical documentation.

Responsibilities

• Carry out the commissioning process on assigned projects
• Coordinate commissioning across the project phases — start-up, design, construction, acceptance, functional performance and systems testing, through to operational turnover
• Assess designs and projects so that they meet the required specifications and standards within the given timeline
• Coordinate commissioning agents, contractors and suppliers, and resolve issues on site
• Support project closeout and the handover into the operational phase
• Prepare a complete commissioning report for each project

Requirements

• Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline
• 3 years of experience in design management or commissioning, preferably in data centres
• Knowledge of data centres, mission-critical design concepts, safety and industry standards
• Good interpersonal skills, and comfortable working with people across different departments
• Sound technical and practical understanding of the mechanical and electrical plant and services that support mission-critical data centre environments
