Job Description

Summary:

The Industrialization Engineer supports the introduction of new products into manufacturing through collaboration with Design Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Supply Chain, Quality, and Operations teams. The role focuses on Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFMA), manufacturing process development, validation activities, digitalization initiatives, and continuous improvement projects.

Working under the guidance of experienced Industrialization Engineers, Product Owners, and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), the engineer will contribute to product industrialization activities. This contribution will be in accordance with Rockwell Automation's Common Product Development (CPD) process and Agile/SAFe methodologies.

You will be reporting to Industrialization Team Lead and will be based in Singapore working 5 days/week from office.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Support New Product Introduction (NPI) projects from product development through manufacturing readiness.
  • Work with Design Engineering and Manufacturing Engineering teams to promote Design for Manufacturing, Assembly, Cost, and Automation principles.
  • Help develop and maintain Manufacturing Design Specifications (MDS), work instructions, process flows, and manufacturing documentation.
  • Participate in Design Reviews and provide manufacturing input during product development.
  • Support prototype, engineering build, pilot build, and production validation activities.
  • Help evaluate manufacturing processes and identify opportunities for improvement, automation, and digitalization.
  • Support manufacturing layout planning, tooling requirements, and process implementation activities.
  • Participate in Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA) and risk mitigation activities.
  • Collect manufacturing data to support problem-solving and decision-making.
  • Help identify Critical-to-Quality (CTQ) requirements and validating manufacturing processes.
  • Support cost reduction, productivity improvement, and Lean initiatives.
  • Create and update Agile/SAFe stories and track assigned actions through project management tools.
  • Build engineering and material-related transactions within ERP systems such as SAP.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve manufacturing and product-related issues during development and production ramp-up.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, quality, environmental, and regulatory requirements.

The Essentials - You Will Have:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or equivalent.

The Preferred - You Might Also Have:

  • Fresh graduate or up to 2 years of relevant internship or industry experience.
  • Academic projects, internships, or capstone projects related to manufacturing, automation, robotics, industrial engineering, or process improvement are advantageous.

Career Progression

This role is intended as an entry point into the Industrialization organization, providing exposure to NPI, manufacturing engineering, automation, Lean practices, and digital transformation initiatives. Successful candidates will develop the skills necessary to progress into Senior Industrialization Engineer, or other manufacturing engineering leadership roles
