Job Description - Integration Engineer – Grid Connections

We are seeking an experienced and driven Integration Engineer for Power Systems (Medium Voltage) grid connection studies to lead the development and delivery of innovative solutions in the Australian market. This role demands expertise in medium-voltage systems, Energy Storage Systems (ESS), Power Conversion Systems (PCS), and grid modelling and simulation tools, along with strong project management and stakeholder engagement capabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

Solution Development and Delivery:

  • Design and deliver customized medium-voltage power system simulation models, including switch gear, transformers, protection systems, and power conversion systems (PCS).
  • Perform grid modeling and simulations to assess system stability, grid compliance, and performance optimization.

Project Management:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure project milestones are achieved on time and within budget.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical and operational challenges during project execution.

Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Act as a technical advisor to clients, providing guidance on system design, performance optimization, and compliance requirements.
  • Work closely with regulatory bodies to ensure solutions meet Australian standards and grid requirements.

Market and Technology Insights:

  • Stay updated on trends in medium-voltage power systems, ESS, and grid technology.
  • Provide insights to enhance product and solution portfolios, focusing on innovation and sustainability.

Compliance and Safety:

  • Ensure all solutions and projects comply with Australian safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
  • Foster a culture of safety and reliability within project teams.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s/Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3-5years of experience in medium-voltage systems, ESS projects, PCS delivery, and grid modeling.
  • Proficiency in grid modeling and simulation tools such as PSCAD, Power Factory, MATLAB/SIMULINK or similar.
  • Proficiency in Hardware-in-Loop simulation tools such as Opal-RT or similar.
  • Strong understanding of Australian electrical standards, grid codes, and compliance requirements.
  • Proven track record in solution development, project management, and business development.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in renewable energy integration and hybrid energy solutions.
  • Familiarity with IoT applications and digitalization in power systems.
  • Professional certifications in electrical engineering or project management are an advantage.
