Junior Quantity Surveyor

Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented Junior Quantity Surveyor to join our commercial team. In this role, you will assist in pre-contract tendering, conduct precise quantity take-offs, prepare schedule documentation, and engage with external vendors and subcontractors to secure competitive pricing for active construction projects.

Key Responsibilities

Quantity Measurement & Documentation: Perform accurate structural, architectural, or M&E quantity take-offs and assist in drafting detailed Bills of Quantities (BQ) and Schedules of Quantities (SOQ).

Subcontractor & Supplier Procurement: Sourcing, requesting, and obtaining commercial quotes from trade sub-contractors and material suppliers.

Cost Analysis & Comparison: Evaluate submitted vendor quotations, conduct line-by-line cost comparisons, and prepare price summary analysis to support tendering and procurement decisions.

Requirements

Education: Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Quantity Surveying, Building, Construction Management, or a related discipline.

Experience: 2 to 5 years of relevant hands-on experience in construction tendering and commercial estimation.

Software Skills:

Proficient in Microsoft Office (especially Microsoft Excel for cost modeling and data analysis).

Familiarity with digital quantity measurement and QS calculation software (e.g., Cubicost / Glodon, PlanSwift, or equivalent).

Core Competencies:

Solid understanding of measurement rules, construction materials, and trade rates.

Good negotiation, numerical accuracy, and vendor liaison skills.
