Laboratory / QC Analyst – Chemical Manufacturing

Position Highlights

• Remuneration: Basic salary of up to $3,800, commensurate with experience
• Shift Allowance: Monthly fixed allowances of up to $1,000 for eligible shift-based appointments
• Employment Type: Permanent, full-time

• Working Arrangements (Multiple Vacancies available): Normal Working Hours or 12-hour rotating shifts

The Opportunity

We are assisting reputable chemical manufacturing organisations in recruiting laboratory professionals to support their Quality Assurance and Quality Control operations. This is an excellent opportunity for candidates with qualifications or experience in Chemistry, Chemical Process Technology, Polymer Science, Material Science or a related discipline to develop their technical expertise in a professional manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine and non-routine laboratory testing on raw materials, in-process samples, semi-finished materials and finished chemical products.
• Operate analytical, processing and material-testing equipment.
• Analyse and interpret laboratory results, ensuring findings are communicated accurately and promptly to the relevant departments.
• Support production process control, technical troubleshooting and product-quality investigations.
• Assist with customer complaint investigations and other laboratory projects.
• Maintain laboratory procedures, test records, calibration documents and safety records in accordance with quality and regulatory standards.
• Ensure laboratory equipment is properly maintained, calibrated and kept in optimal working condition.
• Conduct basic equipment troubleshooting and coordinate with vendors for technical support when required.
• Monitor laboratory consumables and maintain accurate inventory records.
• Collaborate with Production, Sales and other cross-functional teams on technical and quality-related matters.
• Participate in ISO, quality, safety and environmental initiatives.
• Guide junior or newly appointed laboratory team members where required.
• Take ownership of laboratory operations during assigned working hours.

Key Requirements

• Diploma or Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Process Technology or a related discipline.
• Minimum 2 years of laboratory, Quality Assurance or Quality Control experience in the chemical or a related industry is preferred.
• Familiarity with laboratory techniques, analytical equipment and quality management systems.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
• Able to interpret test results and make sound, independent decisions.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Responsible team player who is also comfortable working independently.
• Able to work effectively and maintain accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
