(Lift & Escalator Industry)

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Project Manager to oversee the planning, execution, delivery, and maintenance support of lift and escalator projects in Singapore. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing projects from tender stage through installation, testing, commissioning, and handover while ensuring compliance with contractual, safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Project Planning & Resource Management

- Plan, organize, and obtain the necessary manpower, materials, equipment, and financial resources required to execute projects within approved budgets.

- Develop project schedules and implementation plans to ensure timely completion of works.

Contract Administration & Compliance

- Review and understand project contractual obligations, specifications, and technical requirements.

- Manage project activities, timelines, approvals, documentation, and reporting requirements to ensure compliance with contract conditions and statutory regulations.

- Coordinate with clients, consultants, contractors, suppliers, and authorities throughout the project lifecycle.

Procurement, Manufacturing & Logistics Coordination

- Monitor manufacturing progress at factories and coordinate packaging, shipment, insurance, customs clearance, and logistics arrangements.

- Ensure timely delivery of equipment and materials from factory to project site.

Site Survey & Cost Estimation

- Conduct pre-contract site surveys and gather technical information required for project costing and tender submissions.

- Liaise with manufacturers, suppliers, and subcontractors to obtain quotations and support competitive project pricing.

- Conduct post-award site surveys to confirm equipment specifications, site conditions, and project requirements for detailed design and production.

Project Execution & Site Management

- Monitor construction progress and coordinate delivery schedules, manpower deployment, installation activities, testing, commissioning, and project handover.

- Ensure project milestones are achieved according to approved schedules.

Documentation & Authority Approval

- Prepare and obtain approvals for:

  - Shop Drawings

  - Work Schedules

  - Delivery Schedules

  - Risk Assessments

  - Method Statements

  - Safety Documentation

  - Scaffolding and Hoisting Arrangements

  - Permanent Power Requirements

  - Storage Facilities

  - Tools and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

Workplace Safety & Health Management

- Plan and conduct regular safety activities including:

  - Toolbox Meetings

  - Safety Inspections

  - Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment

  - Safety Training and Awareness Programs

- Promote a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with Workplace Safety and Health requirements, including applicable MOM and BCA regulations.

Project Claims & Financial Administration

- Prepare progress claims, variation claims, and supporting documentation.

- Follow up on certification and collection of payments in accordance with contract requirements and company procedures.

Service Operations Support (Acting Service Manager Duties)

When required, provide operational support for the maintenance business, including:

- Planning and scheduling routine maintenance services for lifts and escalators.

- Coordinating repair teams for breakdown recovery and corrective maintenance works.

- Supporting troubleshooting activities and fault investigation.

- Coordinating procurement and delivery of spare parts.

- Ensuring the safety of technicians, customers, and the public during maintenance operations.

- Reviewing and supporting preparation of service reports, incident reports, and accident reports.

- Maintaining effective communication with customers regarding service schedules, repair status, and project updates.

- Preparing quotations for maintenance, repair, modernization, and related works.

- Monitoring work orders, invoicing, and payment collection for completed services.

Requirements

- Degree in Mechanical Engineering

- Minimum with more than 5 years of relevant experience in the same industry

or

• Diploma in Mechanical Engineering
• Minimum with more than 15 years of relevant experience in the same industry
