Job Summary

Join Arkema’s Technical Services team as a Maintenance Instrument Engineer to lead instrumentation maintenance, optimize plant reliability, and support safe, efficient operations at our Jurong Island chemical manufacturing facility.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise internal technicians and external contractors to execute instrumentation maintenance activities effectively.
• Plan and coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance for field instrumentation and analyzers to ensure operational reliability.
• Analyze maintenance requests, perform troubleshooting and diagnostics, and determine necessary resources, skills, and spare parts.
• Coordinate with operations and other maintenance teams to prioritize and optimize maintenance schedules for minimal downtime.
• Conduct inspections and acceptance checks to verify technical quality and compliance with standards.
• Document maintenance records and reports accurately in SAP to maintain traceability and compliance.
• Verify and approve contractors’ work completion and man-hours to ensure accountability and quality.
• Participate in reliability improvement initiatives and contribute to continuous improvement activities to enhance plant performance.
• Support turnaround planning and execution activities to ensure timely and efficient plant shutdowns and startups.
• Manage contractors to ensure maintenance activities comply with safety and efficiency standards.
• Ensure compliance with HSEQ policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements to maintain a safe working environment.
• Participate in incident investigations and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence and improve safety.

Required competencies and certifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Instrumentation Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or related discipline with at least 5 years of relevant experience in petrochemical, chemical, or process industries.

OR

• Diploma in Instrumentation, Electrical, Electronics, or related discipline with at least 10 years of relevant experience.

• Demonstrated leadership and team management skills to guide maintenance teams effectively.
• Strong planning and scheduling capabilities to optimize maintenance workflows.
• Effective communication and stakeholder management skills to collaborate across functions.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively to achieve maintenance objectives.
• Organized, meticulous, and safety-conscious approach to maintenance activities.
• Knowledge of SAP PM or CMMS systems to support maintenance management.
• Familiarity with industrial communication protocols such as HART, PROFIBUS, and Fieldbus.
• Experience in turnaround planning and execution.
• Knowledge of contractor management and permit-to-work systems.
