Job Description - Management Executive – F&B Operations & Business Development

About Us
The Goodburger is a Singapore-born food business behind concepts including The Goodburger, Carnaby Burger Bar, Jamaica Jerk Chicken Co., and Gourmet Park. We operate across restaurants, food trucks, events, pop-ups, catering, and new brand launches.

We are looking for a high-potential Management Trainee to join our growing team. This role is designed for someone analytical, hands-on, curious, and hungry to learn how to build and scale an F&B business from the ground up.

This is not a desk-only role. You will be exposed to real operations, people management, systems, finance, marketing, logistics, and business development. The ideal candidate is someone who enjoys solving problems, improving processes, and taking ownership.

Key Responsibilities

Operations Management

  • Learn daily outlet and food truck operations across multiple brands.

  • Support opening and closing procedures, service flow, stock control, food safety, and customer experience.

  • Identify operational bottlenecks and propose practical improvements.

  • Assist with manpower planning, scheduling, and staff coordination.

  • Support event, catering, and pop-up operations.

Business & Systems Improvement

  • Analyse sales, costs, manpower, inventory, and operational data.

  • Help develop better SOPs, checklists, reporting tools, and workflow systems.

  • Work on process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce wastage.

  • Support the implementation of POS, inventory, delivery platform, and reporting systems.

Project Management

  • Assist in new outlet launches, food truck deployments, events, and brand activations.

  • Coordinate with suppliers, landlords, contractors, vendors, and internal teams.

  • Track timelines, budgets, deliverables, and operational readiness.

Finance & Commercial Exposure

  • Support basic P&L tracking, cost analysis, procurement comparisons, and vendor pricing.

  • Help monitor food cost, labour cost, utilities, rental, and operating expenses.

  • Assist with business planning for new concepts and growth opportunities.

Marketing & Brand Support

  • Support promotions, customer feedback tracking, campaign execution, and partnership activations.

  • Assist with content coordination and marketing initiatives across our brands.

  • Help identify opportunities to grow sales during different dayparts and locations.

Requirements

  • Diploma or Degree in any discipline. Candidates with engineering, business, hospitality, operations, or technical backgrounds are welcome.

  • Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, hands-on F&B environment.

  • Good communication and coordination skills.

  • Proficient with spreadsheets, data analysis, and basic reporting.

  • Able to work independently and take initiative.

  • Willing to learn all aspects of the business, including frontline operations.

  • Prior part-time experience in F&B, retail, events, logistics, or operations will be an advantage.

Ideal Candidate Profile
This role may suit someone with a technical or engineering background who wants to apply structured thinking, systems design, and problem-solving skills in a real-world business environment.

You do not need to have years of F&B management experience. We are more interested in attitude, intelligence, reliability, curiosity, and the ability to learn quickly.

Career Progression
This is a structured growth role with the aim of developing the candidate into a future Assistant Manager, Operations Manager, Project Manager, or Business Development Manager within the group.

As the company grows, the successful candidate will have opportunities to take ownership of outlets, food truck operations, new brand launches, events, and strategic projects.

Working Arrangement

  • Full-time position

  • 5.5-day work week, depending on operational needs

  • Work locations may include restaurants, food trucks, events, and office/admin settings

  • Hands-on training will be provided
