Market Segment Manager (Semiconductor)

Summary:

Heraeus, the technology group headquartered in Hanau, Germany, is a leading international family-owned portfolio company. Heraeus Electronics is expanding its semiconductor business line. We invite experienced professionals with keen eyes for new technologies to develop and deploy market strategies to join us in this position. The Market Segment Manager will work closely with our Innovation and Business Development teams to bring unique technology and sustainable materials solutions to our customers in the semiconductor. You will be responsible for 2 or more industry segments with global coverage.

Job Responsibilities:

• Define, develop and activate market segment strategies.
• Idea generation and project management working with R&D Innovation teams.
• Build business case, market and industry sizing – TAM, SAM and SOM
• Attends conferences, exhibitions, industry networking events.
• New technology scouting
• Co-work with Product Managers to address new markets and applications.
• Co-work with Business Development Managers to identify collaborations and go-to-market strategic customers.

Knowledge:

• Strong knowledge in two or more Communications, High Performance Computing, Automotive, Wearables, Portable Devices, Medical and/or IoT industries
• Strong knowledge in semiconductor packaging platforms and types
• Strong knowledge in semiconductor value chain
• Strong knowledge in market and industry dynamics
• Good knowledge in market sizing techniques and understanding TAM, SAM and SOM
• Good understanding of financial ratios, ROI and NPV
• Working knowledge in legal contracts, JDAs and licensing
• Working knowledge in intellectual property rights and protection
• Proficient in Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and savvy using web-based applications.

Education:

• Master’s degree in a science or engineering field or bachelor’s degree in science or engineering field with MBA
• PhD in Engineering or Science or Executive MBA a plus

Experience:

• Minimum 15 years working experience in semiconductor industry
• Experienced in sales, marketing, NPI, research & development, applications development and/or product management
