Mechanical Design Engineer (Semiconductor Automation)

Role Overview

We are seeking an innovative and self-driven Mechanical Engineer to lead the design and development of our next-generation semiconductor equipment. In this role, you will be deeply involved in the entire engineering lifecycle.

Core Responsibilities

• Design & Architecture: Outline the core features and technical requirements for new semiconductor machinery. You will conceptualize and build robust mechanical systems from the ground up.

• Component Engineering: Carefully size, select, and integrate essential mechanical components, including actuators, motors, gear drives, pumps, and valves.

• Technical Documentation: Produce accurate, detailed engineering drawings to guide the manufacturing and assembly processes.

• Testing & Validation: Conduct rigorous design verification to ensure all equipment strictly complies with safety regulations, product specifications, and quality standards.

• Continuous Improvement: Evaluate our existing portfolio of legacy machines and engineer smart upgrades to improve their performance and reliability.

• Risk & Defect Analysis: Utilize structured problem-solving frameworks and analysis tools—such as FMEA (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis) and Fishbone diagrams—to troubleshoot issues and mitigate design risks.

Professional Qualifications & Skills

• Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a closely related discipline.

• Industry Experience: At least 3 years of hands-on professional experience in automation equipment design.

• Specialized Expertise: A strong background in developing high-precision machinery, with specific experience designing high-speed pick-and-place mechanisms and semiconductor equipment.

• Drafting & CAD Tools: Highly proficient in 3D CAD software (Creo is strongly preferred). You must have a deep understanding of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) to produce manufacturing-ready mechanical drawings.
