Network Engineer

We are looking for a Network Engineer to provide comprehensive L2 and L3 support for complex, high-availability network infrastructures. The candidate will be responsible for advanced routing, security management, incident resolution, and performance optimization. This role is dedicated to maintaining system stability and operational continuity through proactive monitoring and timely problem resolution.

Please note: This position requires availability for a 24/7 rotational shift schedule (including nights, weekends, and public holidays) to ensure round-the-clock network coverage.

Key Responsibilities

• Network Operations & Incident Management:

  • Handle L2 and L3 incident escalations during assigned shifts, performing Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for critical outages to prevent recurrence.

  • Monitor and maintain LAN/WAN, VPN, Firewalls, and Switches to ensure optimal performance.

  • Perform proactive link utilization analysis and latency checks to predict and prevent potential issues before business impact.

• Cloud & Hybrid Infrastructure:

  • Support the integration and management of network services within AWS (VPC, Direct Connect, Transit Gateway) and hybrid cloud environments.

  • Collaborate with cloud architects to ensure network configurations align with cloud best practices and security standards.

• Configuration & Automation:

  • Deploy and configure network devices (Cisco, Juniper) utilizing automation scripts (Python, Bash) where applicable to streamline operations.

  • Manage and maintain Linux-based environments and Middleware (JBOSS) to support application delivery.

• Security & Compliance:

  • Monitor network logs and security alerts to identify vulnerabilities and intrusions across all shifts.

  • Adhere to ITIL-based change management and security compliance standards.

• Documentation & Reporting:

  • Maintain comprehensive SOPs, incident logs, and change records for seamless handover between shifts.

  • Generate weekly/monthly reports covering network uptime, incident trends, and SLA compliance.

Required Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.

• Experience: 1–3 years of experience in Network Operations, System Administration, or a similar infrastructure role.

• Technical Skills:

  • Networking: Strong understanding of Routing, Switching, Firewalls, and VPNs.

  • Cloud: Practical understanding of AWS services (EC2, S3, IAM, VPC).

  • OS: Proficiency in Linux administration and troubleshooting.

  • Tools: Familiarity with Monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds, Datadog), ServiceNow, and Jira.

• Soft Skills: Strong analytical thinking, excellent communication, and a detail-oriented approach to problem-solving.

• Shift Readiness: Willingness and ability to work in a 24/7 rotating shift roster, including overnight, weekend, and public holiday coverage.

Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have)

AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner or Solutions Architect Associate.

Experience with VMware vSphere and Middleware (JBOSS).

Knowledge of Python or Shell scripting for automation.
