Precision EDM Machinist

Our client is a well-established MNC specializing in advanced semiconductor and manufacturing technology solutions. Due to their current expansion plan, they are looking for a Precision EDM Machinist – Engineering to join their engineering team. They are located in the (North) – easily accessible.

Responsibilities for Precision EDM Machinist:

• Set up, program, and operate Sodick and AgieCharmilles EDM machines to produce precision mold components and tooling.
• Perform EDM machining of mold chases, pockets, and shut-off features, ensuring accuracy and proper fit with mating components.
• Prepare, validate, and manage graphite and copper electrodes, utilizing System 3R or Erowa tooling for repeatable setups.
• Optimize machining parameters and burn sequences to achieve required surface finishes, dimensional accuracy, and efficient production.
• Conduct in-process inspections using precision measuring instruments and CMM data to verify compliance with engineering specifications.
• Perform routine machine maintenance, including monitoring dielectric fluid and filtration systems, to ensure optimal machine performance.

Requirements:

• NITEC, Higher NITEC, Technical Certificate, or equivalent in Precision Engineering, Manufacturing, Tool & Die Making, or a related field.
• Minimum 3–5 years of experience in precision mold making, EDM machining, or plastic injection mold manufacturing.
• Hands-on experience with Sodick or GF AgieCharmilles EDM machines and the ability to read engineering drawings.
• Detail-oriented with knowledge of precision tooling systems and tight-tolerance machining
