Principal Engineer, Solutions Engineering

We are seeking an experienced professional to lead the planning, execution, delivery, implementation, and operational support of technology-driven projects.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing end-to-end project delivery, coordinating software development, system implementation, infrastructure deployment, and stakeholder engagement to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, within scope, aligned with technical and business objectives, and according to required quality standards.

Job Responsibilities:

Project Planning & Delivery Management

• Lead end-to-end planning, execution, monitoring, and delivery of technology-driven projects including software applications/ solutions, system implementation, infrastructure deployment, and associated services.
• Develop and manage project plans, covering schedules, milestones, resource allocation, and budgets.
• Drive project execution through the full project lifecycle, including:
• Requirement gathering and analysis:
• Solution design and technical review
• Development/configuration
• Testing and validation
• Deployment and commissioning
• Project handover and closure
• Track project progress and provide regular status updates, reports, and performance indicators to stakeholders.

Solution Implementation & System Integration

• Manage implementation and delivery of software solutions, technology platforms, and integrated systems.
• Coordinate integration between applications, infrastructure, databases, network systems, and external systems.
• Review technical requirements, solution designs, and implementation approaches to ensure alignment with business and operational requirements.
• Ensure deployed solutions meet business requirements, operational needs, and technical standards.
• Support troubleshooting and resolution of technical issues throughout project execution.

Technical Coordination

• Work closely with cross-functional teams (internal/ external) including:
• Software development
• System engineers
• Network and infrastructure
• Testing and commissioning
• Operations
• External vendors and partners
• Facilitate communication between technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Coordinate technical activities, resolve dependencies, and remove delivery blockers.
• Provide guidance and support to project, customer care & T&C team to ensure successful implementation.

Risk, Issue & Dependency Management

• Identify, assess, and manage project risks, technical challenges, issues, and dependencies.
• Develop and implement mitigation plans to minimize project impact.
• Proactively manage blockers affecting schedule, cost, quality, or project delivery.
• Escalate critical issues and provide recommendations to stakeholders.

Testing, Deployment & Acceptance

• Manage project testing activities including:
• System testing
• Integration testing
• User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
• Deployment verification
• Operational readiness assessment  
• Ensure technical documentation, training materials, and operational handover requirements are completed.
• Support customer/stakeholder acceptance and project closure activities.

Stakeholder & Vendor Management

• Act as the primary project interface between internal teams, customers, suppliers, and external partners.
• Manage stakeholder expectations through effective communication and reporting.
• Coordinate activities across multiple teams, locations, and vendors.
• Manage vendor relationships, third-party solutions, contracts, and service delivery commitments.

Project Budget & Resource Management

• Manage project budgets and track actual versus planned expenditure.
• Support forecasting, cost control, and change request management.
• Allocate project resources effectively to achieve delivery objectives.
• Ensure project priorities are aligned with business requirements.

Team Leadership & Process Improvement

• Lead and coordinate project teams including project members, testing & commissioning teams, developers, and technical specialists.
• Provide direction, support, and motivation to ensure successful project execution.
• Conduct post-project reviews and document lessons learned.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance project delivery processes, operational efficiency, and service quality.

Job Requirements:

• Diploma/ Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field. Master's degree is a plus.
• Proven track record of successfully delivering technology, system & software infrastructure projects on time and within budget. Good to have similar experiences in security x-ray screening software.
• Strong understanding of Project Life Cycle (SDLC) and various methodologies of Implementation.
• Experience with project management tools such as -Networking
• System Software
• Good understanding of risk management, budget management, and resource allocation.
• Good team management skills – ability to lead IT/Network motivate cross-functional teams.
• Excellent communication skills, demonstrated through clear, effective and inclusive interactions with stakeholders across varying backgrounds and levels. (both technical and non-technical audiences).
