Principal ICT Engineer

RED is an expanding international M&E consultancy, with a proven track record in low energy design, focused on providing excellent design solutions to clients.

We now seek an experienced Principal ICT Engineer to be based in our Singapore office to inspire others. You will have the ability to run small and large sized projects, undertake a client facing role in the development, design, and co-ordination of engineering projects You will have experience in the delivery of data centres along with other sector experience including commercial, hotel, retail, and hotel design desirable.

Your excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both with colleagues and clients, and experience working on innovative projects with leading client organisations, and contractors will equip you to take a future pro-active role in forging client relationships of our sector portfolio.

You will possess good commercial awareness, in addition to having robust technical knowledge relevant to building services design, and capable of incorporating those technologies into the hotel / hospitality and leisure sector. The position will ideally suit someone who is currently working in building service consultancy and is prepared to work ‘hands on’.

Job Description

· Responsible for running of major projects

Team Management role in the development and design and coordination of engineering project services

· Responsible for development and leading the local design team

· Carries out cost and profit diagnosis on projects including feasibility studies and preparation of fee bids

· Reviews status advised by project personnel and external parties and modifies schedules or plans as required.

· Prepares project reports for Management, Client or others.

· Represents Company at technical meetings with customers, professional

· teams and contractors’ teams

· Support the delivery of projects in accordance with the expectations of the RED Project Delivery Process from a Project Management, Financial

Management, QA/QC and Technical Review perspective

Day to day decision making on project progress and direct liaison with, and provides advice to client

Job Requirements

· Engineering degree in appropriate ICT infrastructure engineering discipline

· At least 10 years’ appropriate employment experience

· Relevant past employment examples:

o IT/Multi-disciplinary consulting firm

o ICT consultancy and project management

o Construction project management (with a technology emphasis)

o Network technology vendor/manufacturer

o Network systems integration contractor

· Experience in ICT infrastructure, building ICT fit-out migration and occupation

· Ideally the candidate will have a technical understanding of the following

o Critical Facilities/Data Centre Design

o Campus Networks

o LAN Ethernet Switching

o Wi-Fi Network Communications

o Structured Cabling Systems

o Fibre Optic Networks

o Data Cabling Containment Systems

o Telecommunication Network Infrastructure and Services
