Job Description - Principal Process Engineer (Etch)
Job Objectives
To develop semiconductor and dielectric etch processes and capabilities aligned to company’s technology and product roadmap, aligned to and integrated with in-house manufacturing capabilities.
Duties and Responsibilities
Manage all dielectric and III-V etch process and operations for optoelectronics device and photonics integrated circuit fabrication
Manage all characterization of etch process outcome, inclusive of dimensional conformance and surface condition outcome
Manage and improve etch process stability and control through SPC and yield monitoring
Develop new etch recipes and processes to meet new requirements from NPI/NRE projects
Manage all etch process design and control documentation, and prepare reports on analysis, findings and on-going project progress
Closely monitor status of all etch equipment and work with equipment team to resolve any arising equipment issues
Supervise process engineers and operators performing any etch process block to ensure compliance to established qualified etch process procedures and settings
Training of process engineers and operators on the dielectric and III-V etch process, procedures and operations
Supports Operations Director in ensuring production output meets planner's demand on schedule and meets yield & quality targets.
Execute development & improvements plans by ensuring that manufacturing processes, procedures, and associated process validations, inclusive of improvement of process flow, part manufacturability process capabilities with LEAN methodology
Assist in the assessment and execution of reliability and process qualification of new etch process modules for new products at in-house and outsource fab process vendors/suppliers
Maintain current knowledge of relevant technology as assigned, and participate in special projects as required.

Qualification Guidelines
Minimum Education
Masters Degree or higher
Minimum Experience
A minimum 5 years of experience in wafer etch fabrication process with some experience in manufacturing/process development, operations management in the field of photonics, semiconductors, telecommunications, in company with similar or larger size and market capitalization.
Specific Knowledge / Skills
Possesses strong communication skills and the ability to coordinate cross-functionally with R&D, Quality and Operations,
Understanding process validations. Experience using Lean Manufacturing tools.
Knowledge of up-to-date production and automation equipment, processes, designs and functions
