Product Design Engineer (API 14L)

RoleSummary

We are seeking an experienced Product Design Engineer to lead the development of oil & gas equipment in compliance with API 14L. The role covers the full product lifecycle—from concept design and engineering analysis to qualification, certification, and audit support.

The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience in pressure-containing equipment design, API standards compliance, and product qualification, and be capable of demonstrating full design traceability during audits.

Key Responsibilities:

1) Product Design & Development

- Design products from concept to production in accordance with API 14L requirements

- Perform engineering calculations, including:

• Structural and pressure design
• Fatigue and fracture assessments
• Tolerance stack-up and fit analysis

- Develop:

• 3D models, engineering drawings, and BOMs
• Design documentation with clear traceability to API clauses

- Conduct DFMEA and risk assessments

2)Product Qualification & Validation

- Plan and execute product qualification programs, including:

• Prototype development
• Validation and verification testing (functional, pressure, endurance)

- Define:

• Test specifications and acceptance criteria
• Inspection and validation requirements

- Prepare and review:

• Qualification procedures and reports
• Interface with test labs, certification bodies, and suppliers

3) Standards Compliance & Audit Support

- Ensure compliance with:

• API 14L and relevant industry standards (API, ASTM, ISO)

- Support:

• API Q1 / ISO audits and certification processes
• Customer and third-party technical audits

- Maintain:

• Complete design packages and traceability records

- Demonstrate compliance through:

• Engineering calculations, test data, and documentation
