Project Engineer

About our client: Our client operates in the process and industrial plant engineering design and consultancy sector, supporting industries such as Oil & Gas, Power Generation, Petrochemical and Refining.

About the role:

• Reviewing project scope and budget
• Designing schedules and project execution plans
• Contributing to project cost, quality, scope, and schedule control to ensure on-time delivery within budget
• Leading document design reviews and customer meetings
• Programming PLC-based systems using customer-supplied design documents and proprietary libraries
• Developing Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) plans and leading customer-witnessed FAT activities
• Performing commissioning activities and supporting end users with process troubleshooting
• Alerting Operations Manager and Project Manager of potential or current project issues
• Reviewing customer specifications to support preparation of accurate sales proposals when required
• Travelling within the Asia Pacific region to support project execution and site activities

About you:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics, or equivalent experience
• Minimum 1 year experience in PLC-based control system design in Oil & Gas, Power Generation, Petrochemical, or Refining industries
• Proficient in MS Outlook, MS Project, Excel, Visio, and IEC 61131 PLC programming languages
• Experience in turbomachinery control applications, including gas turbines, steam turbines, motor drives (VFD, induction and synchronous), surge protection, generators, AVR, and vibration monitoring
• Bently Nevada configuration and Allen-Bradley PLC design/programming experience preferred
• Positive attitude and strong initiative
• Willingness to travel for overseas assignments
