Develop and implement project-specific Quality Control Plans (QCPs), defining inspection checkpoints, testing requirements, and acceptance criteria.
Review engineering drawings, specifications, and related documentation to ensure compliance with project requirements and applicable industry standards.
Monitor the execution of quality control activities throughout all phases of piping projects, including material selection, fabrication, and installation.
Conduct visual and dimensional inspections of piping components to confirm compliance with design specifications and quality requirements.
Supervise Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) activities, including radiographic testing (RT), ultrasonic testing (UT), dye penetrant testing (PT), and magnetic particle testing (MT).
Perform hydrostatic and pneumatic pressure testing of piping systems to verify structural integrity and leak-tight performance.
Verify material suitability and quality through receiving inspections and review of material certification documents.
Ensure proper storage, handling, and preservation of materials to prevent damage, deterioration, or contamination.
Monitor welding procedures, welder qualifications, and welding performance to ensure compliance with project and quality standards.
Conduct visual inspections of welded joints and coordinate radiographic examinations to identify defects and non-conformities.
Maintain complete records of inspection and testing activities, including reports, test results, and supporting documentation.
Prepare detailed quality reports highlighting findings, non-conformities, and recommended corrective actions.
Work closely with engineering, procurement, construction, and project management teams to resolve quality-related issues and provide technical support.
Communicate effectively with stakeholders, contractors, and regulatory authorities on quality assurance and quality control matters.
Investigate quality issues, deviations, and non-conformities, identify root causes, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
Monitor and verify the effectiveness of corrective actions and ensure timely closure of quality issues.
Ensure compliance with relevant industry codes, standards, and regulations governing piping systems, including ASME B31.3, API 570, and other applicable requirements.
Diploma (Polytechnic) or higher qualification in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
Strong documentation and record-keeping skills.
Knowledge of Welding Inspection standards and certifications such as AWS or CSWIP.
Knowledge of auditing practices and auditor certification requirements.
Experience in base-build piping fabrication or hook-up module fabrication projects.
Experience in structural and piping weld inspections, including Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) activities.
Experience conducting piping line walkdowns and reinstatement inspections, with the ability to interpret and understand isometric drawings.
Willingness to be based at the Tampines project site for a minimum of two years.
