Job overview

The Quality Assurance Engineer supports project and corporate QA functions to ensure that works comply with contractual, regulatory, and internal quality standards across civil, building, and pharmaceutical-related projects. This role is especially relevant for pharmaceutical civil works, where documentation, workmanship control, and compliance are critical.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain project Quality Plans, Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), checklists, and QA procedures.
• Review drawings, specifications, method statements, and material submissions to ensure quality requirements are properly addressed before execution.
• Conduct site inspections for civil, structural, and architectural works, and verify compliance with approved specifications and standards.
• Monitor pharmaceutical civil works such as controlled environment areas, cleanroom-related building works, and associated process support spaces to ensure required quality and cleanliness standards are met.
• Coordinate testing and inspection activities with subcontractors, suppliers, consultants, and third-party laboratories.
• Raise, track, and close non-conformance reports (NCRs), and support corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
• Maintain quality records, inspection reports, material approvals, and handover dossiers for client and authority submission.
• Support internal audits, vendor quality reviews, and continuous improvement of the company quality management system.
• Work closely with project managers, site engineers, supervisors, and clients to resolve quality issues in a timely manner.

Requirements

• Degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
• 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in QA/QC for construction, civil, industrial, or plant projects.
• Practical knowledge of QA/QC documentation, including ITPs, material approvals, inspections, NCRs, and audit records.
• Experience in civil and structural works inspection, with the ability to interpret drawings, specifications, and method statements.
• Exposure to pharmaceutical, cleanroom, industrial plant, or process facility projects will be an added advantage.
• Familiarity with ISO 9001 quality management systems and site quality procedures.
• Good communication, coordination, and documentation skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office; experience with digital QA/QC systems is an advantage.
• Able to work independently and support project teams across site-based environments.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, systematic, and comfortable working in live construction environments where documentation, traceability, and execution quality are essential. Experience supporting industrial or pharmaceutical civil works will be especially useful for this position.
