Quality Inspector (Quality) @Jurong Island

Job Summary

The Quality Inspector ensures construction materials, processes, and workmanship meet contract, client, international, and Singapore regulatory standards. This role drives quality control, compliance, and risk mitigation to deliver durable, safe civil projects efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Review and update quality control (QC) procedures according to the project Quality Assurance Plan to ensure compliance and effectiveness
• Develop and revise QC report templates and checklists aligned with Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) for consistent quality documentation
• Create and deliver quality training materials to subcontractors’ QC inspectors and site supervisors to enhance project quality standards
• Conduct site monitoring and inspections for civil works following ITPs to verify workmanship and material quality
• Enforce timely submission and approval of QC reports and checklists by subcontractors after inspections to maintain project documentation integrity
• Participate in internal quality audits to assess compliance with ISO 9001 Quality Management System, Singapore regulations, and project requirements; identify non-conformities and collaborate on corrective and preventive actions
• Support external quality audits of subcontractors to verify adherence to contracts, specifications, codes, and regulatory standards; address non-conformities with project teams
• Issue Site Observation Reports (SORs) and Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) and track their resolution to closure
• Monitor project Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), identify deviations, coordinate root cause analysis with subcontractors, and report findings to the QAQC manager
• Coordinate with discipline engineers, subcontractors, clients, and third-party inspectors to ensure all project quality requirements are fulfilled
• Assist in preparing mechanical completion documents prior to commissioning to confirm readiness
• Contribute to preparing the Turn-over Package (TOP) at project completion to ensure comprehensive project handover

Required competencies and certifications

• Degree or Advanced Diploma in Civil Engineering
• Minimum 3 years of experience in civil quality control inspection for construction projects in Singapore
• Strong knowledge of construction materials, techniques, and standards including BS EN, SS, and ASTM
• Ability to perform physically demanding tasks on-site safely and effectively

Preferred competencies and qualifications

• Experience with the CONQUAS quality assessment process

• Work environment includes a combination of office and on-site duties
• Overtime and night shifts may be required to meet project demands
