Managing Director / General Manager / Quality Manager
Job Purpose
The Quality Supervisor is responsible for establishing,implementing, maintaining, and continuously improving the Company's QualityManagement System (QMS) while ensuring that all products and processes complywith customer specifications, engineering drawings, applicable industrystandards, and regulatory requirements. The Quality Manager leads all qualityassurance and quality control activities to achieve customer satisfaction,minimize defects, and support operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
1. Quality Management System (QMS)
Develop, implement, maintain, and continuously improve the Company's ISO 9001 Quality Management System.
Ensure compliance with customer-specific quality requirements and applicable industry standards.
Maintain quality policies, procedures, work instructions, and controlled documentation.
Coordinate internal and external quality audits and ensure timely closure of audit findings.
Manage document control and quality records in accordance with QMS requirements.
2. Quality Assurance & Quality Control
Oversee incoming, in-process, and final inspections to ensure compliance with engineering drawings and customer specifications.
Approve First Article Inspection (FAI), First Piece Inspection (FPI), and production release.
Ensure effective inspection plans, quality checkpoints, and acceptance criteria are established.
Review inspection reports, non-conformance reports (NCRs), and quality documentation.
Monitor product quality throughout the manufacturing process to prevent defects and rework.
3. Customer Quality Management
Act as the primary quality representative for customers regarding quality-related matters.
Manage customer complaints, warranty issues, and corrective action requests.
Lead root cause investigations using structured problem-solving methodologies (e.g., 8D, 5 Why, Fishbone Analysis).
Implement and verify corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
Support customer audits and quality assessments.
4. Supplier Quality Management
Evaluate and approve suppliers from a quality perspective.
Conduct supplier audits and performance evaluations.
Work closely with Procurement to resolve supplier quality issues.
Monitor supplier quality performance and drive continuous improvement.
5. Metrology & Calibration
Manage the calibration program for all measuring and inspection equipment.
Ensure calibration records are maintained and traceable.
Verify that inspection equipment is suitable and accurate for intended use.
Coordinate external calibration services where required.
Oversee proper handling and maintenance of precision measuring equipment.
6. CNC Manufacturing Quality
Ensure compliance with GD&T requirements and engineering drawings.
Review machining processes to ensure quality requirements are incorporated into production.
Support Engineering and Production in developing inspection methods and control plans.
Monitor machining capability, dimensional accuracy, and process stability.
Assist in new product introduction and production validation.
7. Continuous Improvement
Lead continuous improvement initiatives to reduce defects, scrap, and rework.
Analyze quality data and identify opportunities for process improvement.
Implement Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma quality improvement techniques where applicable.
Promote a culture of quality awareness throughout the organization.
Establish quality objectives and monitor achievement.
8. Regulatory & Customer Compliance
Ensure compliance with applicable statutory, regulatory, and customer requirements.
Maintain customer approvals and quality certifications.
Ensure compliance with material traceability requirements.
Review customer specifications and communicate quality requirements to relevant departments.
Maintain confidentiality of customer information and proprietary data.
9. Team Leadership
Lead, supervise, and develop the Quality Assurance and Quality Control team.
Conduct performance evaluations and identify training needs.
Ensure inspectors and quality personnel are competent in inspection techniques and quality standards.
Promote teamwork, accountability, and professional development.
10. Procurement & Material Quality
Oversee the quality verification of highly specific raw materials, cutting tools, fixtures, gauges, inserts, and shop floor consumables used in CNC precision manufacturing.
Ensure all incoming materials are inspected and comply with engineering drawings, material certifications, customer specifications, and applicable standards.
Review and approve Material Test Certificates (MTCs), Certificates of Conformance (COCs), and other supplier quality documentation.
Work closely with Procurement and suppliers to resolve material quality issues and prevent recurring defects.
Support supplier qualification, incoming inspection planning, and continuous improvement of supplier quality performance.
11. Health, Safety & Housekeeping
Ensure quality activities are carried out in accordance with Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) requirements.
Promote good housekeeping (5S) within inspection and quality areas.
Ensure proper handling, storage, and preservation of products during inspection and release.
12. Documentation & Reporting
Prepare and present monthly quality performance reports to Management.
Maintain records of inspections, audits, NCRs, CAPAs, calibration, and customer complaints.
Monitor quality metrics and recommend improvement actions.
Ensure complete traceability and retention of quality records.
Authority
The Quality Manager is authorized to:
Approve or reject incoming materials, work-in-progress, and finished products.
Stop production or shipment when quality requirements are not met.
Issue Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) and require corrective actions.
Approve inspection procedures, quality documentation, and control plans.
Coordinate customer and certification audits.
Recommend supplier approval, suspension, or disqualification based on quality performance.
Qualifications
ITE, Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality Engineering, or a related discipline.
Minimum 3–10 years of experience in quality management within a CNC precision engineering or manufacturing environment.
At least 3 years of supervisory or management experience.
Strong knowledge of ISO 9001, GD&T, precision measurement, CMM inspection, SPC, MSA, PFMEA, Control Plans, and Root Cause Analysis.
Experience with customer quality requirements in industries such as Oil & Gas, Aerospace, Semiconductor, or Medical Devices is preferred.
Excellent leadership, communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Proficient in ERP/MRP systems, Microsoft Office, and quality reporting tools.
