JOB DESCRIPTION:-
-Prepare detailed cost estimates, BOQs (Bills of Quantities), and tender documents for mechanical and piping projects.
-Analyze project specifications, drawings, and contracts to assess cost requirements.
-Conduct feasibility studies and risk assessments for cost-related decisions.
-Administer contracts, including subcontractor agreements, variations, and claims.
-Evaluate and negotiate contract terms with suppliers, vendors, and subcontractors.
-Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and local regulations (e.g., Singapore Standards, BCA, and SIA requirements).
-Assist in procurement processes, including material take-offs, supplier evaluations, and cost comparisons.
-Prepare and evaluate subcontractor quotations for mechanical and piping works.
-Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to ensure cost-effective procurement.
-Monitor project expenditures, track variations, and provide cost reports to management.
-Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality or safety.
-Review and certify progress claims, invoices, and final accounts.
-Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to ensure alignment on cost and contractual matters.
-Attend site meetings and provide cost-related advice for mechanical and piping installations.
-Resolve any commercial disputes related to project costs or contracts.
-Maintain accurate records of all cost-related documents, contracts, and change orders.
-Ensure adherence to company policies, industry standards, and Singapore regulatory requirements.
REQUIREMENT:-
- Diploma/Degree in Quantity Surveying, Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
- Minimum 3 years of QS experience in mechanical, piping, or oil & gas projects (Singapore experience preferred).
- Proficient in AutoCAD, CostX, Bluebeam, or similar QS software.Strong knowledge of mechanical & piping materials, construction methods, and industry standards.
-Familiarity with FIDIC, NEC, or PSSCOC contracts is advantageous.
-Excellent negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
-Ability to work under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
-Proficiency in Cost Control, Cost Management, and Cost Planning
-Experience in preparing and managing Bills of Quantities (BOQ)
-Ability to generate detailed and accurate Cost Reports Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Relevant qualifications in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or related fields Knowledge of industry practices, regulations, and standards in construction and engineering
