Job Description & Requirements

The Sales Engineer is responsible for developing new business opportunities and managing existing customer accounts within the industrial, process, maintenance, and environmental services sectors. The role combines technical understanding with commercial acumen to identify customer requirements, develop practical and cost-effective solutions, prepare proposals and tenders, and support the successful execution of projects. The Sales Engineer works closely with operations and technical teams to ensure solutions meet customer expectations while achieving the Company's revenue and profitability objectives.

Responsibilities:

  • Identify, develop, and secure new business opportunities across industrial and process sectors. Manage and grow existing customer accounts through regular engagement and site visits.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, consultants, and key stakeholders.
  • Achieve individual sales targets and contribute to overall business growth.
  • Support business expansion into new sectors such as pharmaceutical, semiconductor, advanced manufacturing, and other high-value industries.
  • Conduct customer meetings, site surveys, and technical discussions to understand operational requirements.
  • Work closely with operations and technical teams to develop practical and commercially viable solutions.
  • Translate customer requirements into service proposals and technical recommendations.
  • Ensure proposed solutions meet operational, safety, and regulatory requirements.
  • Prepare quotations, tenders, and commercial proposals in accordance with customer requirements.
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders to obtain costing, technical specifications, and operational inputs.
  • Review tender requirements and ensure compliance before submission.
  • Support commercial negotiations and contract clarifications with customers.
  • Maintain regular communication with customers to identify repeat business opportunities.
  • Monitor customer satisfaction and promptly address service-related concerns.
  • Support account development initiatives to maximize revenue opportunities and strengthen long-term customer relationships.
  • Monitor market developments, industry trends, and competitor activities.
  • Identify emerging opportunities and provide market feedback to management.
  • Maintain accurate records of opportunities, quotations, tenders, and sales activities.
  • Support sales planning and forecasting activities.
  • Work closely with operations, project teams, procurement, and management to ensure smooth project mobilisation and execution.
  • Support project handover activities following contract award.
  • Perform ad-hoc duties and special projects assigned by Management.
  • Execute supplementary sales and business development duties as directed by senior management.

    Requirements:
  • Minimum 2–5 years of experience in technical sales, sales engineering, business development, account management, or related industrial services.
  • Experience in industrial services, maintenance services, process industries, environmental services, engineering solutions, or related sectors will be advantageous.
  • Exposure to pharmaceutical, semiconductor, petrochemical, power generation, manufacturing, or waste management industries will be an added advantage.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to understand technical requirements and develop practical, solution-based proposals.
  • Commercially aware with an understanding of costing, pricing, and profitability considerations.
  • Strong stakeholder management and customer relationship-building skills.
  • Self-motivated, results-driven, and able to working dependently.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Possess a valid Class 3 driving license.
