Client is an expert in automation and digital systems for pharmaceutical and biotech manufacturing, seeking to hire a 1 year contract Senior Automation Engineer.

• Duration: 12 months contract (ongoing)
• Salary: up to $14,000 base (open for negotiation)

Your new role

We are seeking an experienced Automation Engineer, you will play a critical role in the engineering design, development, and deployment of Distributed Control Systems (DCS), with a strong focus on Emerson DeltaV platforms.

This role bridges process engineering and automation, ensuring robust, compliant, and scalable systems for pharmaceutical manufacturing.

Batch & Process Automation (S88)

• Life Sciences & GMP Compliance
• Ensure systems are designed and maintained in line with GMP, GAMP5, and regulatory requirements.
• Support qualification and validation activities including IQ/OQ/PQ documentation and testing.
• Drive data integrity, audit readiness, and compliance within automation systems.

Operational Support & Continuous Improvement

• Provide day-to-day technical support for DeltaV systems within manufacturing operations.
• Troubleshoot system issues, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal plant performance.
• Lead/support deviation investigations (NC) and CAPA activities, including root cause analysis and implementation of corrective actions

What you'll need to succeed

• Minimum 10+ years of experience in DeltaV DCS engineering within pharmaceutical or biopharmaceutical GMP environments.
• Strong expertise in ISAS88 batch control principles and implementation.
• Proven experience in automation project lifecycle (design, build, test, commissioning, and support).
• Solid understanding of pharmaceutical manufacturing processes (e.g., upstream, downstream, formulation, fill-finish).
• Knowledge of automation hardware, field instrumentation, and industrial networking technologies.
• Experience with GMP compliance, validation, and regulatory requirements.
