Senior Backend & Data Platform Engineer

ROLE OVERVIEW

Responsible for leading backend engineering and dataplatform initiatives, with a focus on application services, enterprise systems,database performance, and operational infrastructure. The role supports thedesign, development, integration, deployment, and optimisation of scalabledigital solutions that improve business efficiency, data reliability, andsystem stability.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

·      Lead backend development activities forapplication systems, business platforms, and enterprise-facing digitalsolutions.

·      Design, build, and maintain backend services,APIs, and business logic using structured engineering practices.

·      Support full-stack and system integrationinitiatives by coordinating backend services with front-end applications,databases, and operational workflows.

·      Develop and optimise data processing pipelinesand platform capabilities using big data tools to support reporting,synchronisation, and analytical requirements.

·      Manage database design, tuning, migration, andmaintenance to improve reliability, scalability, and performance acrossbusiness systems.

·      Plan and maintain server environments,deployment processes, online operations, and security optimisation forproduction infrastructure.

·      Participate in the full project lifecycle,including requirements analysis, solution design, development, testing,release, support, and iterative enhancement.

·      Use AI-assisted development tools whereappropriate to improve coding efficiency, troubleshooting speed, andengineering productivity.

·      Collaborate with business stakeholders andtechnical teams to ensure solutions are practical, maintainable, and alignedwith operational goals.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

·      Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science andTechnology, Engineering, or a related field.

·      Strong experience in backend development andenterprise software delivery.

·      Hands-on knowledge of PHP, Golang, Node.js, orcomparable backend programming languages.

·      Practical experience with big data tools, dataworkflows, and large-scale data processing environments.

·      Solid working knowledge of database development,optimisation, migration, and maintenance, especially MySQL and similarplatforms.

·      Experience with server setup, deployment,operations, and infrastructure security in online production environments.

·      Strong analytical thinking, structured executiondiscipline, and practical troubleshooting ability.
