(Senior) Conceptual Engineering Manager- AS

Purpose of the Position

• The Conceptual Engineering Manager (CEM) – AS develops and oversees the initial creation of technical and commercial solutions for Air Gas Products business opportunities.
• The CEM provides cost-effective, high-value plant solutions that ensure the lowest possible life-cycle gas cost, balancing practicality and robustness for industrial gas clusters.
• This role involves designing engineering concepts, requiring expertise in process engineering, knowledge of industrial designs, awareness of client industry needs, and familiarity with business goals and relevant technical details.

Principal Responsibilities

• Understand client or cluster requirements and their impact on customer processes.
• Lead technical development and coordinate economic assessments of solution options specially in early phase of project development.
• Evaluate gas supply options across different production technologies.
• Work with Gases Business Development to find ways to broaden business scope.
• Develop plant operating scenarios for expected industrial gas needs.
• Identify technical and commercial risks and support business risk assessments.
• Ensure plant operability, contribute to business cases, and collaborate with Operations.
• Lead the creation of conceptual capital estimates and performance projections for screening options.
• Director perform simulations to create process flow diagrams, optimise design, and compare gas costs.
• Support customer presentations and information-gathering meetings.
• Assist with technical and commercial proposals.
• Provide input on process performance with LG for business cases and contracts.
• Share insights for strong plant operability with Project Execution and Operations.

Required Key Skills (Professional/Technical)

• Technical, engineering, and plant operability skills in ASU technologies, utilities blocks, and gas processing as relevant to the Hubs.
• Experience in customer plant operations across major market sectors.

Required Qualifications/Experiences

• Bachelor’s degree in Process Engineering or Chemical Engineering; an advanced degree is preferred.
• 10-15years of technical experience in industrial gas process plant engineering and project work, with a strong technical expertise in Air gas production technologies.
• Solid understanding of process modelling and simulations for developing plant performance estimates.
• Good familiarity with project economic, financial requirements, and modelling, plus thorough knowledge of industrial gas plant designs, process efficiency impacts, and regional costs.
• Excellent verbal, numerical, and reasoning skills, with the ability to analyse and interpret technical and commercial data.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
