Role Purpose

To execute QAQC and QMS activities across Power Plant, Utility, EPC, and Renewable Energy projects (Solar), ensuring all engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and handover activities meet specified quality, statutory, and regulatory requirements. The role shall perform welding inspections, oversee NDE activities, verify compliance with approved procedures and standards, support ISO 9001 Quality Management System implementation, participate in audits and process improvement initiatives, and drive quality excellence throughout the project lifecycle to achieve safe, reliable, and defect-free project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

Quality Management System

  • Implement and maintain project QAQC requirements in accordance with ISO 9001 and approved Project Quality Plans (PQP).Prepare, review, and implement Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), work procedures, checklists, and quality records.
  • Ensure proper control, filing, and submission of QAQC documentation and inspection records.

Construction & Project Quality

  • Good understanding of construction QAQC practices, inspections, and ITP implementation.
  • Ability to perform welding inspections, review welding documentation (WPS, PQR, WPQ), and witness welding activities in accordance with applicable codes and standards.
  • Capable of coordinating and evaluating NDE activities and interpreting NDE reports.
  • Experience supporting quality inspections for Power Generation and Renewable Energy projects, including mechanical and structural installations.
  • Familiar with NCR management, inspections, and quality documentation control.
  • Detail-oriented, structured, and methodical.
  • Able to coordinate effectively with contractors and project teams.
  • Safety-conscious with basic construction safety knowledge.

Contractor & Supplier Quality

  • Monitor contractor and subcontractor QAQC performance and compliance with PQP and ITPs.
  • Witness factory acceptance tests (FAT), material inspections, and site material receipt inspections where required.
  • Coordinate with contractors on inspection scheduling, quality issues, and corrective actions.

Non‑Conformance & Improvement

  • Raise, track, and close Non‑Conformance Reports (NCRs).
  • Support root cause analysis (RCA), corrective and preventive actions, and effectiveness verification.
  • Identify recurring quality issues and highlight improvement opportunities to the QAQC Manager.

Compliance, Audits & Coordination

  • Support internal, external, customer, and regulatory audits as assigned.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory, regulatory, and authority requirements relevant to site works.
  • Coordinate with Engineering, Construction, Safety, and Document Control teams on quality matters.
  • Interface with client representatives and third‑party inspectors during inspections and audits.

Key Accountabilities

  • Ensure assigned works are inspected, accepted, and documented in compliance with project requirements.
  • Timely identification and reporting of non‑conforming works.
  • Accurate and complete QAQC records to support handover and Final dossiers.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Diploma or Degree in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, or related Engineering discipline.
  • 3–8 years of QAQC experience in Construction, EPC, Power Plant, Utilities, or Renewable Energy projects.
  • Hands-on experience in site quality inspections, welding inspections, and QAQC execution activities.
  • CSWIP 3.1 Welding Inspector certification preferred.
  • NDE Level II certification (UT, MT, PT, RT or equivalent) preferred.
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001 Quality Management System requirements.
