Senior Field Service Engineer (Genset industry)

Key Responsibilities

• Perform installation, commissioning, and on-site training for customers in accordance with project requirements and scope.

• Provide timely after-sales technical support, troubleshooting, and field service to ensure equipment reliability and operational performance.

• Support a wide range of diesel generator sets, from small to large capacities, and assist internal teams with technical expertise and training.

• Maintain and update technical documentation, service manuals, and training materials to ensure accuracy and accessibility.

• Deliver technical training to distributors and dealers on servicing, maintenance, and troubleshooting procedures to maintain high service standards.

• Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, ensuring effective follow-up and resolution of technical issues.

• Provide technical support during factory acceptance tests (FAT) and special project testing activities.

• Conduct root cause analysis of equipment failures and recommend corrective and preventive actions.

• Manage and support warranty-related technical investigations and customer inquiries.

• Carry out additional service, training, and technical support responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements

• Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.

• Experience in installation, commissioning, maintenance, and troubleshooting of diesel generator systems.

• Strong technical knowledge of power generation equipment and mechanical systems.

• Ability to perform root cause analysis and resolve complex technical issues effectively.

• Customer-focused mindset with strong service orientation and communication skills.

• Team player with strong problem-solving abilities and a results-oriented approach.

• Willingness and ability to travel frequently across the Asia-Pacific and Southeast Asia regions.

• Experience with diesel engines from manufacturers such as MHI, MTU, John Deere, or Volvo is an advantage.

• Experience in conducting technical training for customers, distributors, and service partners is preferred.

• Ability to work independently while managing multiple customer and project requirements.
