Key Duties and Responsibilities
As Senior Manager / Manager, Data Centre Engineering Support (DCES), you will collaborate across stakeholders to ensure data centre uptime, cost efficiency, and optimal performance, while driving effective problem resolution and aligning engineering support with business objectives.
- Provide leadership to the DCES team and support the planning, development and implementation of strategic goals
- Assists the Head of Department in managing team performance, including goal setting, performance review and learning & development.
- Act as the Mechanical, Electrical & Plumbing Subject Matter Expert for Singapore data centres.
- Champion the Problem Management process, and serve as the rotating duty Incident Manager in accordance with ITIL frameworks.
- Lead energy management initiatives, including energy audits, optimisation programmes, engineering works, retrofitting projects, and financial evaluation of energy efficiency measures.
- Oversee the procurement of technical services and works, and manage contracts, including the administration and renewal of existing service agreements
- Manage technical certification programmes (e.g., ANSI/TIA-942, Green Mark, ISO) from planning through to certification.
- Collaborate with the Technology & Project Delivery team to enhance maintainability and build quality.
- Develop, verify and review technical policies, processes, procedure and work instructions, including maintenance framework and best practices.
- Establish frameworks to ensure compliance with applicable acts, regulations, standards and approved code of practices in relation to building operations.
- Drive technical learning and development initiatives for Singapore data centres.
- Support customer technical audits and provide relevant management information as required.
- Any other duties or projects as assigned by the Management
Requirements
- Degree in Electrical Engineering
- 5–8 years of relevant experience in operations, maintenance, commissioning, construction, and/or design of mission-critical facilities.
- Data centre experience is preferred.
- Excellent knowledge in MEP operations and building facilities related systems, such as Switchgears, UPS, Generators, CRAUs, etc
- Proven track record in leading certification programs, including ANSI/TIA-942, Uptime, BCA-IMDA Green Mark for Data Centres, SS 564, LEED and ISO.
- Relevant certifications in energy and environmental management (e.g. SCEM, SGBC Green Mark Professional, LEED GA/AP) would be advantageous.
- Professional certifications (e.g., CEng, PE, PMP, Uptime Accredited Tier Designer/Specialist) are preferred.
- Familiarity with international standards such as ASHRAE, Uptime, ISO, NFPA, and Singapore Standards
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and perform effectively under tight timelines
