Are you looking for a career in an inspiring, global environment where your expertise makes a difference? At Neste, you will be working for the world’s leading producer of renewable diesel and sustainable aviation fuel, which enable our customers to reduce their greenhouse gas emissions.
Neste operates renewable and oil refineries on three continents. Keeping them running reliably — and knowing with confidence that every critical asset is maintained the right way, at the right time, for the right reason — requires more than site-level expertise. It requires a global standard, consistently applied.
That standard is yours to build.
Job Description & Requirements
As Senior Manager, Reliability Centered Maintenance, you will own Neste's global RCM framework — the methodology, standards, and principles that determine how maintenance strategies are designed, validated, and continuously improved across all refining locations. You are the company's technical authority on reliability and maintenance strategy, which is built together with business units, ensuring that the right maintenance tasks are performed at the right time, based on a rigorous understanding of failure modes, consequences, and asset criticality. You will be the owner of global reliability and asset integrity business processes, tools and systems.
You will be part of the global Reliability & Asset Integrity team within the Refining Competence Center, working in close partnership with site reliability and maintenance teams, refinery operations, and engineering stakeholders. The role is located at one of Neste's production sites — Porvoo, Rotterdam, or Singapore — with occasional international travel.
What do you will do
Support our renewable and oil products business units to perform in area of reliability and asset integrity
Define, own, and continuously improve Neste's global RCM framework and maintenance strategy standards — from FMEA/FMECA methodology through to PM optimisation and condition-based maintenance programs
Manage Neste reliability and asset integrity development portfolio as part of reliability and asset integrity team
Lead or govern RCM analyses on critical equipment classes; provide technical authority on maintenance strategy decisions across sites
Own asset lifecycle principles and standards, including criticality classification, maintenance strategy selection, and end-of-life planning, which are built together with business units
Drive the transition from time-based to condition- and risk-based maintenance where technically and economically justified
Establish and govern reliability KPIs across the refinery network; report on asset health trends and provide actionable recommendations to senior leadership
Collaborate with site reliability teams to embed global standards — providing technical guidance, coaching, and structured support for implementation
Support major turnaround and outage planning from a reliability and maintenance strategy perspective
Drive capability-building initiatives across site maintenance and reliability teams, strengthening RCM competence throughout the organisation
Build and maintain a global network of reliability stakeholders; facilitate cross-site knowledge sharing and best practice transfer
Ensure alignment with applicable industry standards, including ISO 55000 asset management principles
Contribute to projects and programs that need expertise and resources of risk-based inspection
What you bring
10+ years of experience in maintenance, reliability, or asset integrity roles — with substantial experience in a refinery or petrochemical processing environment
Proven, hands-on expertise in RCM methodology; experience leading or facilitating FMEA/FMECA studies on complex process equipment
Solid understanding of both rotating and static equipment failure modes and maintenance requirements in refinery service
A track record of developing or significantly improving maintenance strategies and reliability programs — ideally across multiple sites or business units
Demonstrated ability to influence and build alignment across multiple sites, functions, and levels of an organisation without direct authority
High commitment to safety — embedded in how you work, not just what you sign off
Analytically rigorous, with the ability to prioritise based on risk, lifecycle value, and business impact
Strong communicator — able to translate complex reliability concepts clearly for both technical and non-technical audiences
Fluent English; Master's degree in mechanical, chemical, process, or related engineering discipline
Additionally valued
Certified Reliability Engineer (CRE – ASQ) or Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional (CMRP – SMRP)
ISO 55001 Asset Management qualification
Experience working in or alongside a Centre of Excellence or multi-site governance function
