Senior QA Engineer - Marine Systems Commissioning

Responsibilities:

• Ensure all construction activities are completed before systems are handed over for commissioning.
• Prepare commissioning schedules and plan manpower deployment to meet project timelines.
• Develop and implement procedures and guidelines for systematic commissioning and start-up of equipment.
• Initiate and manage commissioning activities by coordinating between the company and OEMs.
• Conduct regular site audits to ensure compliance with safety requirements and good housekeeping practices.
• Supervise onsite commissioning activities and coordinate with other trades for smooth execution.
• Prepare and maintain commissioning records, including site observations, testing processes, and checklists.
• Track and review progress through HAT meetings and participate in customer progress meetings to resolve issues.
• Compile and update commissioning reports and records.
• Assess requirements for special tools and equipment needed for commissioning and initiate procurement where necessary.
• Develop and update risk assessments (RA) and conduct weekly safety briefings with supervisors and workers.

Requirements:

• Degree or Diploma in Naval Architecture, Structural, Marine, Electrical, or Electronic Engineering, or other offshore/electrical/electronic-related fields.
• Naval Institute trained preferred.
• At least 3 years of experience in a similar role; candidates with shipboard experience will be highly regarded.
• Knowledge of Class and Quality Standard requirements (trade dependent).
• Ability to understand Marine/Electrical & Automation Systems equipment schematic and arrangement drawings.
• Strong knowledge of Marine/Electrical & Automation systems’ operational requirements.
