Job Title: Service Team Lead

Occupation: Marine Repair Engineer (Shore-Based) — BWTS & Scrubber Systems

We are seeking an experienced Senior Service Engineer to lead the technical service delivery for our Ballast Water Treatment Systems (BWTS) and Exhaust Gas Cleaning Systems (Scrubber / EGCS) portfolio. This is a senior, multi-disciplinary position that combines hands-on technical work with team leadership, service planning, and spare parts management.

The successful candidate will not only perform field service personally, but also own the wider service operation — directing a team of service engineers, coordinating job schedules across multiple vessels and clients, and ensuring the right people, parts, and documentation are in place to deliver on time. This breadth of responsibility, and the autonomy to manage the service function end-to-end, is reflected in the compensation package.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Service Delivery

• Perform hands-on commissioning, servicing, troubleshooting, and repair of BWTS and Scrubber Systems on board vessels and in dry-dock.
• Ensure BWTS and Scrubber Systems achieve the required technical standards and performance.
• Supervise the installation of Ballast Water Treatment Systems and Scrubber Systems.
• Prepare, arrange, and manage class, statutory, and other vessel surveys.
• Plan, manage, and monitor dry-dockings and other repair and maintenance jobs.

Team Leadership & Scheduling

• Lead, mentor, and supervise a team of service engineers; review and develop their performance.
• Plan and allocate service jobs, balancing engineer availability, vessel schedules, and client priorities.
• Act as the senior technical point of contact for clients and OEM partners, ensuring service quality and client satisfaction.
• Train and assess vessel crew on system operation and maintenance.

Spare Parts & Asset Management

• Manage spare parts planning, stock levels, and procurement to ensure parts availability for scheduled and emergency jobs.
• Maintain accurate inventory records and minimise downtime caused by parts shortages.

Documentation & Compliance

• Ensure system certificates and documents are systematically updated and stored.
• Effectively implement the Company's planned maintenance system.
• Perform any other tasks as assigned by the Company.

Requirements

• Degree in Marine / Mechanical / Electrical Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• Minimum 10+ years' hands-on experience servicing marine BWTS and/or Scrubber Systems
• Proven experience supervising or leading a service team.
• Strong working knowledge of class and statutory survey requirements and the dry-docking process.
• Ability to plan, schedule, and manage multiple concurrent jobs independently.
• Willingness to travel and attend vessels at short notice, including overseas.
• Strong communication skills and a client-facing, problem-solving mindset.
