As the Facilities Electrical Engineer, you are required to lead engineering and maintenance works in the fields of Electrical equipment and system on site, with the necessary guidance and direction from Facilities organization, to achieve facilities department, site, facilities corporate and company goals.
Job Responsibilities:
Adhere to company’s environmental safety health policy and procedure, standard operating procedure with risk assessment, good housekeeping standard and quality policy when performing work
Report and follow through work related injury and near miss to supervisor and actively participate in safety incident investigation
Attend safety training and safety committee meeting, when required
Attend and complete classroom, computer-base training, skill certification and on-the-job Learning item training to acquire skill to performance job function within given stipulated time frame.
Maintenance & Commissioning Experience in electrical high/low voltage system up to 230kV, emergency generator, Rotary UPS, Power quality equipment.
Sound knowledge in protection relays, protection system design and verification of protection schemes up to 230kV level substations.
Conduct Electrical system and arc flash studies for existing system and expansion projects.
Provide support for operational issues and root cause analysis with standard problem solving knowledge of the systems.
Support design reviews for base build systems in electrical area of responsibility ensuring specifications are met and cost reduction improvements are identified.
Review and support capacity analysis for electrical systems.
Identifies and evaluates risk analysis for electrical systems and proposes possible improvements and implementation
Review and advise on scope, schedule, and cost estimates for Facilities infrastructure additions or modifications.
Monitor progress and provide Engineering and Design support during construction as required per project if necessary.
Analyze system designs to identify improvements that will result in better performance, efficiency gains, reduced maintenance, and cost savings.
Conduct risk and failure mode and effects analysis.
Eliminate single points of failure and mitigate risk.
Benchmark within and external to Micron sites on Engineering and Design Best Known Methods (BKM) of Facilities buildings and systems.
Guide, coach and certify Electrical team through classroom and site training, when required.
Lead documentation in Standard Operating Procedure, Risk Assessment, Energy Isolation Procedure and Pre-Task-Plan.
Lead, plan, schedule and supervise Preventive and Corrective Maintenance work activities, priorities and reallocate resource when required, on Electrical equipment and system under the responsibilities of Facilities organization.
Lead troubleshooting and attend to abnormalities in support of Operations and containment action in a timely manner on Electrical equipment and system under the responsibilities of Facilities organization, when required.
Lead and participate in Electrical equipment and system abnormalities root cause identification, conduct and attend Post Incident Review meeting to provide update, then execute corrective and preventive action to resolve abnormalities and continual improvement, this include installation and modification work on existing or new Electrical system.
Manage out sourced contract service provider to performance work activities in accordance to service agreement and defined performance indicators.
Maintain equipment and system maintenance record for work history traceability.
Review Preventive and Corrective Maintenance work performance, recommend and implement continual improvement through new work method, procedure, time-interval and spare or consumable parts
Provide engineering expertise support to system capacity expansion planning and enhancement projects with system capacity review studies and tracking to meet production plan via MOR cycle.
Evaluation and verify engineering design and solution meets specification, code and regulatory requirement for installation of new capital equipment and/or system expansion project
Provide evaluation and recommendation on estimated project cost, schedule and cash flow plan for installation of new capital equipment and/or system expansion project.
Provide site verification for installation of new capital equipment and/or system expansion project at critical milestone during construction phase.
Provides support for start up testing and commissioning of new equipment and system to achieve design intend and all equipment properly interface to other Mechanical, Electrical and controls systems. Eliminate or reduce risk of facilities system interruption during start up testing and commissioning works.
Leverage AI-enabled tools (e.g., data analytics platforms, copilots, automation tools) to improve operational efficiency, decision-making, and reporting accuracy across facilities and project activities.
Apply data-driven approaches to monitor system performance (e.g., electrical distribution, power quality, reliability metrics), identify anomalies, and support predictive maintenance strategies.
Utilize AI-assisted workflows to streamline documentation, incident analysis (RCA/CAPA), and reporting for faster turnaround and improved consistency.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (engineering, IT, data, and operations) to identify opportunities for digitalization, automation, and AI adoption in facilities management and project execution.
Ensure proper governance, validation, and ethical use of AI-generated outputs, maintaining compliance with Micron standards, security policies, and regulatory requirements.
Continuously build AI and digital competencies, staying updated on emerging tools and best practices to enhance productivity and innovation.
Support implementation of smart facility initiatives, including integration of IoT, monitoring systems, and AI-driven insights to improve system reliability, energy efficiency, and operational resilience
Job Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
Minimum 6+ years of electrical engineering experience in the semiconductor industry or other mission-critical facilities environments.
Strong hands-on experience in the design, operation, and maintenance of HV/LV electrical distribution systems
Ability to prioritize and schedule workload and work on multiple tasks concurrently.
Good organizational skills and Service attitude.
Excellent communication skills and good team working skills
Self-motivated worker.
