Software Lead

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of software engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
• Design and architect scalable, secure, and maintainable full-stack applications and distributed systems.
• Develop, review, and optimise RESTful APIs to ensure high performance, reliability, and security.
• Champion secure software engineering practices and drive the adoption of DevSecOps principles throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Oversee the implementation and maintenance of CI/CD pipelines, integrating automated testing and quality assurance into deployment workflows.
• Collaborate closely with business analysts, product owners, UI/UX designers, solution architects, and infrastructure teams to deliver high-quality digital solutions.
• Implement cloud-native applications and ensure alignment with AWS or Microsoft Azure best practices for deployment, monitoring, scalability, and operational excellence.
• Develop and maintain systems that integrate with government digital services such as Singpass and Corppass while ensuring compliance with public sector security and governance standards.
• Support project planning, technical estimation, solution design, risk assessment, and delivery management.
• Conduct code reviews, establish engineering best practices, and drive continuous improvement initiatives across the development team.
• Stay up to date with emerging technologies and recommend improvements to enhance system performance, security, and maintainability.
• Nice to Have: Lead or contribute to projects involving IoT platforms, connected devices, or real-time data processing solutions.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
• At least 6 years of hands-on software development experience, including 2–3 years in a technical leadership or team lead role.
• Strong experience in full-stack application development, covering both frontend and backend technologies.
• Proven expertise in designing, developing, and maintaining RESTful APIs.
• Solid understanding of secure software development practices, with hands-on experience implementing DevSecOps principles and toolchains.
• Proficiency in cloud technologies, with practical experience deploying and managing applications on AWS or Microsoft Azure.
• Experience delivering software solutions for the public sector, including integration with government digital services such as Singpass and Corppass, is highly advantageous.
• Good understanding of Agile software development methodologies and experience working in Agile delivery environments.
• Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Proven ability to lead technical teams, mentor engineers, and drive engineering excellence.
• Nice to Have: Experience integrating with IoT platforms, connected devices, or real-time data processing systems.
