Job Summary
The Staff Product Owner, Industrial & Physical AI is responsible for defining, prioritizing, and delivering AI-powered products supporting Micron's global construction, facilities, EHS, digital twin, and physical AI initiatives. Reporting to the Director of Industrial & Physical AI, this role serves as the bridge between business stakeholders and technology teams, translating business requirements into scalable solutions and driving successful implementation across global manufacturing and construction programs.
As a senior individual contributor, the Staff Product Owner will provide strategic product leadership, influence cross-functional decisions, and drive alignment across global stakeholders while ensuring the successful delivery and adoption of Industrial & Physical AI solutions. The successful candidate will possess strong product management expertise, stakeholder management skills, and experience delivering software, AI, automation, or industrial technology products within complex, cross-functional environments.
Main Responsibilities
Define and manage the product roadmap for the Industrial & Physical AI portfolio, ensuring alignment with strategic business objectives and global fab expansion programs.
Partner with executive stakeholders and business teams to identify opportunities where AI, robotics, automation, and digital twin technologies can improve operational performance, safety, and project execution.
Lead stakeholder discovery sessions with Construction, Facilities, EHS, Manufacturing Operations, Equipment Engineering, Material Handling, and other key business functions to gather requirements and define success criteria.
Translate business needs into clear and testable requirements, including user stories, acceptance criteria, business requirements documents (BRDs), functional requirements documents (FRDs), data requirements, and AI model performance metrics.
Own and prioritize the product backlog, balancing business value, technical feasibility, risks, and delivery timelines.
Lead Agile product management activities including backlog refinement, sprint planning, product reviews, release planning, and prioritization discussions.
Drive delivery using a hybrid Agile and Waterfall methodology, balancing capital project milestones with iterative software and AI development cycles.
Partner closely with software engineers, data engineers, machine learning engineers, and integration teams throughout the product lifecycle.
Track product performance, adoption metrics, project progress, and business outcomes while providing regular updates to leadership and executive sponsors.
Influence product strategy, prioritization, and investment decisions across global programs and stakeholders.
Other Responsibilities
Drive user acceptance testing (UAT), deployment readiness, change management, training, and operational handoff activities.
Manage relationships with external technology vendors and partners supporting AI, robotics, computer vision, digital twin, and automation initiatives.
Establish statements of work, acceptance criteria, quality standards, and delivery expectations for external partners.
Evaluate emerging technologies, industry trends, and solution providers to support future product capabilities and innovation opportunities.
Develop governance frameworks and best practices to ensure sustainable adoption and support of Industrial & Physical AI solutions.
Integrate AI-assisted tools and insights into daily work to improve efficiency, quality, and effectiveness while exercising sound judgment and complying with organizational standards and legal requirements.
Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement by identifying, testing, and sharing AI-enabled enhancements within the scope of work.
Minimum Required Qualifications / Experience
Bachelor's degree in Robotics, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Construction Management, or a related technical discipline.
Minimum of 8 years of experience in Product Management, Product Ownership, Technical Program Management, or a related role supporting software, data, AI, automation, or industrial technology products.
Proven experience translating business requirements into product roadmaps, requirements, and technical deliverables.
Experience leading large-scale digital transformation, AI, automation, or industrial technology initiatives from concept through deployment.
Demonstrated success managing complex programs and influencing senior stakeholders within global, matrixed organizations.
Experience working within Agile product development environments and software delivery lifecycles.
Experience delivering solutions using hybrid Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
Must Have Technical Skills
Product roadmap development, backlog management, and product lifecycle management.
Agile product delivery, requirements management, and user story development.
Business process analysis and stakeholder requirement gathering.
Knowledge of AI/ML solutions, data platforms, and industrial digital technologies.
Experience developing business requirements, functional specifications, acceptance criteria, and performance metrics.
Ability to apply digital fluency and role-appropriate AI literacy to use AI-enabled tools responsibly and effectively for research, analysis, content creation, problem-solving, operational tasks, and achieving business outcomes.

Highly Desirable / Preferred Skills or Experience
Master's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Robotics, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
Experience within semiconductor manufacturing, industrial, construction, facilities, or heavy-industry environments.
Familiarity with construction workflows, including BIM/VDC, scheduling tools (e.g., Primavera P6), RFIs/submittals, EHS, procurement, and field operations.
Familiarity with Physical AI technologies and platforms, including NVIDIA Isaac, ROS 2, Omniverse/OpenUSD, computer vision, digital twins, AMR/AGV systems, edge AI, and industrial robotics.
Experience managing strategic partnerships with technology vendors, systems integrators, or industry solution providers.
