System Administrator

Job Summary

The system administrator collaborates with IT and other departments to ensure robust, secure, and scalable IT infrastructure supporting business operations.

Responsibilities

• Design and maintain server and network infrastructure to ensure high availability, optimal performance, and security across all systems
• Monitor system performance continuously and implement upgrades to enhance efficiency and reliability
• Implement and maintain security measures to protect IT assets and data integrity
• Manage backup solutions and develop disaster recovery plans to ensure business continuity
• Collaborate with other departments to assess and support their technology requirements effectively

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in computer engineering or related field
• Experience managing Linux systems
• Experience building and managing medium to large compute clusters in academic or industrial settings
• Knowledge of high-performance networking and data storage technologies
• Understanding of cybersecurity principles and best practices
• Effective communication and decision-making skills
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, dynamic environment focused on continuous improvement
